Joe's Mock 4 Draft

That works better now Joe.

I like Jordan, but I really like the Carimi pick. I think he would slide right in at RT and provide a bookend with Free for years to come.

thanks buddy, i had missed that, for calling it to my attention, been putting on vehicle inspection stickers right and left, so i get interruped some,

thats why i went back up in 1st round to get Carimi. Kinda like the packers when they traded back up to get clay matthews a few years back in 1st round, after they got their big NT

That Carimi could be our stud ROT for years, with Jordan being our pass rusher to help ware and spencer, along with ratliff,

so we would be getting 2 key stud offensive and defensive linemen in 1st round,

like madden always said, you win football games first in the trenches

A report about Cam Jordan comes out and everyone thinks he's the pick.

Tired of this trading down junk. We suffered a 6-10 season with a roster like this and we're gonna trade out of the top 10?

If anything trade up and get an X factor. Bottom 31% of the league season and we're looking for solid players? Not X factors? Unreal!

I know we're better than our record but top 10 doesn't happen often unless you're the Bills, Browns, Bengals or Lion's.

Get that future defensive superstar.

Offensively, this isn't the draft in the first round.

We need to improve that defense more than anything anyways.

The rest of the players I wish we could get them all with those picks. Won't happen.

Peterson
Fairley
Dareus

or bust.

Trade up, whatever. But get a beast.

Going to be more meat out there in FA than people think.

I am with you 100%.

Fairley.

He is going to be dominant for the next decade, and I'd love for it to be as a Cowboy.

I don't know about all of the trading involved.

However if you give me those players you had listed...I will be a happy camper.

I like the beef on the offensive line and another potential playmaker on the defense.

I understand what your saying about trading up and i agree, but that wont happen, why?

cost too much, Just to get to the 5th overall pick in first round, will cost you a 2nd rounder

I dont see the cowboys doing that, possibly be willing to give up a 3rd or 4th, like they did to get dez bryant, but the cowboys just moved up 3 spots to get dez

cowboys wont trade that 2nd rounder, unless its to move back up in the 1st round with a 4th rounder like with new england if carmini is there the big OT

Draft Trade Value Chart
to move from 9th slot to 5th costs 400 points, which equals out to a 2nd rounder

And the cowboys used the draft value trade chart, when they traded with new england last year,

I heard Belicheater talking about it when he was talking to the cowboys for trading up on the phone best i remember, on a media broadcast

I feel that Peterson, Fairley, Dareus will be gone by the time we pick

Now, I do agree with you, if cam newton or the missouri qb is sitting there when were picking, washington, vikings and miami may all want him, and we can then get value for him

Point wise, say if we traded with miami, value to trade down for their 15th pick to get our 9th pick, would be a 3rd and 6th

now if we can show them, say the skins, vikings and dolphins 3 teams are willing to trade with us to get cam newton, then you could sweeten the deal some

but teams do use the draft trade value chart

going to be tough to get picks out of miami since they dont have a 2nd rounder(brandon marshall trade) i cant see them trading away a 3rd as well, If anything i think they will trade back to recoup picks JMO .

Im thinkig the vikings are the team we will most likley deal with i know it's not a big drop but we could still do ok if they fall in love with one of the qb's pick up extra picks AND screw the skins ? i'll take it!

if cam newton is there, they will trade up if they can get him, from what ive heard

definitely a fan of the wheeling and dealing, but if your basing all your trades off of the chart our 2nd and 4th will only get us to the very top of the 2nd.
490+84=574 in between pick 33-34.

edit* and im definitely on the side that believes barber isnt going to get us anything in a trade.

I dont know which part is sillier. Taking Isiah Stanback part 2, or someone giving up more than a hot pocket for Barber

Dumb comment, considering Kaepernick would be taken as a Quarterback, not a Bill Parcells WR project.

no, by my trade of moving up in 1st to get to the 28th pick that the patriots own,

its 155 points,thats worth a 4th rounder, adding in the 2nd rounder
we have the 40th pick in 2nd round

to move from 40th to 28th pick you need 155 points, that equals a 4th round pick thrown in with the 2nd rounder

thats the beauty of it, some team swoops in and steals the qb maybe cam newton they want if he is stil there, and the vikings sweeten deal to trade up to get him, leaving skins out in the cold, shocked not knowing who to pick

:D

Yeah i see where your trying to trade to, but looking at the chart you posted our 4th rounder is only worth 84 points, and dont we have the 41st pick in the 2nd? 9th pick of every round? If your saying we need 155 points to move into the 1st that looks like a mid to late 3rd rounder to me.

Dont get me wrong i like what your trying to do, but i believe if were the ones trying to get back a trade down than were going to be the ones usually giving up a little more. to me giving up a 4th and our 2nd would be a steal for us and i would be on board in a second.

No, we have the 40th pick in 2nd round, its not all the 9th pick in each round

we swap due to same record with several teams after first round

and my draft chart says 155 points to move up from 40th to 28th, thats worth a 4th rounder

you can go back and look on 2nd page, and view the draft chart for picks i posted for someone

I have an old chart I use that is similar to what Jimmy Johnson and Jerry Jones used to use and talk about;

Silly draft.

Too many trades. Too many oline. We won't take a QB in 4th with McGee showing something. We HAVE to draft one maybe two CBs.

oh alright well thats what i see different than im using the chart you just posted. It shows the first pick in round 4 being worth only 112 points. I understand we need the 155 points to move back up into the 1st, so the old chart that you say your using must be different from the one you posted.

Not necessarily so, from reports from some zoners at the senior bowl
Jason Garrett was all over the Nevada QB Kae..... and other QB Dalton

if you look at the cowboys last few years, players they look at first, and players they bring in for a visit, the cowboys draft about half through the draft,

say cowboys draft 8 players

at least 3-4 of them are players they have looked at with strong interest

last year, first player cowboys looked at for a visit was Dez Bryant

along with an OT too

i agree about the trades, but i get the sneaky suspicion that after woicik gets through working with the players in limited offseason and woicik sees what players are in shape etc and want to work, that jason will trade, cut or release other players that dont measure up

jimmy johnson did this first 2 years he was here

for sure

if you look at things jason is doing, some of it is similar to what jimmy johnson did in getting coaches, discipine to the team etc..

again just my opinion and your entitled to yours

i just see cowboys making 1 to 3 trades for this draft, either by trading down or up and with a player or too that jason doesnt want to keep

it is, again, most of the draft value board points vary, not to much but alittle

i dont have the link to the old one jimmy johnson used to use, but its on the internet somewhere

ive saved it through the years

Joe dont read too much into that. Garrett saw the whole field, thats his job. We arent taking a QB. Romo has plenty of years left, Kitna has 1 more year left, and McGee was a 4th rounder groomed to be the backup. We arent going to draft an athlete/QB/Pat White player.

You would think when they took McGee that Garrett was heavily onvolved being he was a career backup and he would be working w/ the guy a lot as former OC.

McGee has looked pretty good too considering he was a project.

would be jumping for joy if this happens. Absoutely estactic. Only thing I would change would be Kaepernick (qb from NV) jsut because I do not think we need a qb yet. This would be a A+ draft grade.
