Ohio State defensive end Joey Bosa is still one of the most popular projections to the Ravens at pick No. 6, in part because he didn’t put up stellar numbers at the NFL Scouting Combine.

Bosa improved on those numbers at his pro day Friday, however, leaving questions as to whether he’ll slide in to the Ravens’ range.

All 32 clubs were reportedly in attendance for Ohio State’s pro day considering they have a handful of prospects that could be drafted in the first round.

Bosa ran the 40-yard dash in 4.86 seconds at the combine, leaving questions about his overall athleticism, but clocked in faster during his pro day, according to NFL Network’s Albert Breer. Bosa also improved on the bench press.

Ohio State DE Joey Bosa improved from 24 to 28 reps in the bench, and ran in the mid-4.7s in the 40, per a couple teams' stopwatches.

Of course his 4.21 shuttle and 6.89 cone were already the most correlative to NFL success and already elite.

I stand by a Chris Long comparison, although I think Bosa has better technique as a rusher then Long did coming out. People think that comparison makes Bosa sound jagish. They forget Long registered a 13 sack season before his body started giving out on him.

I think his best fit in the NFL is a mutliple front scheme like in Buffalo or Baltimore. Can rush from boths of a 4 man, rush from the weakside 5 Tech and rush from the strong side standing up in a 3 man front. I can see Baltimore or Buffalo making a move for him

His ideal game isn't like 250 lbs sprinters like Miller and Mack. Why would you want him to stand up?

Long's not a bad comparison to where they were coming out. Their measurables are very similar. He went second overall.

The irony is that the best DE to come out lately, Clowney, destroyed his knee. Miller is another Derrick Thomas type rusher.

Outside of that who are all these sure fire DE that have come out in the last decade? The negative pushback and reasoning reminds me of what Watt got. His stock was driven way down. Mack went at 5 to the Raiders but as a small school prospect that is a significant risk Senior Bowl or not.

Jordan, Fowler, Coples, Smith, Curry, and Adams were all clearly inferior.

You stand him up in a multiple front defense like Baltimores or Buffalos where they shuffle players to create matchs. His ideal position position in as a 3-4 Olb, but he has enough agility and quickness to play there of a he has a clear mismatch. A guy like Rex Ryan would move him all over the place

Ideal? I just don't see this at all. OSU kicked him inside and he excelled. He has extremely heavy hands. At 20 years old he will get bigger and stronger too. To me, he seems tailor made for a 4-3 DE in the mold of Allen, Strahan, and Long.

I meant to say his ideal position wouldnt be an OLB.

To me his versility is his best trait and. He can play 3 spots in a 4-3 and IMO 2, maybe 3 in a 3-4. If im the DC of a hybrid defense, Bosa is on top of my board.

Well I understand why Baltimore wants him.

He can still play all 4 DL spots in our nickel and both DE and likely even SAM in the base. Early on they would likely place him at SDE and let him play for a year.

The Ryan style 3-4 narrative makes more sense applied to Lawson though.

Buckner too although he is a pure down lineman. I could see him playing LDE in a base 4-3 and rushing from either tackle spot in the nickel and playing both 5 Tech spots

I saw the pro day, and the most impressive player on the field was Cardale Jones. That dude can throw that rock. I would take him in the 6th, since we don't have a 5th round pick. Bosa and the rest of the participants were gassed and looked out of shape. Elliot was an exception, he looked good too.

Cardale looked kinda fat all season did he tone it up. Or is he still the Round Mound of Touchdown..
