BAKERSFIELD, Calif. -- Authorities say NFL linebacker Joey Porter has been arrested in Bakersfield on suspicion of drunken driving and accused of assaulting an officer and resisting arrest.

The California Highway Patrol says the 33-year-old player was confronted by officers early Saturday in a fast-food parking lot.
Porter refused to provide his driver's license and began to roll up his window when asked to leave the car. Police say that when an officer reached to unlock the door Porter slapped the officer's hand.
Porter eventually got out and complied with orders, placing his hands behind his back. He and a passenger were arrested.
The 11-year veteran recently signed with the Arizona Cardinals. He also has played for Pittsburgh and Miami.

If you were in Bakersfield wouldn't you drink?

To anyone who just got offended because you are from Bakersfield, don't agree with drinking and driving, or any other reason...I was kidding. I don't drink and I don't condone doing it and getting behind the wheel.

Hey Hostile, hasnt Porter gotten in trouble before? or any suspensions? If he does, how many games do you think the Commissioner Goodell will suspend him if have had suspensions before?

Remember we play them this year, so if we can get it where he doesnt play, may help us, what ya think?

Joey Porter-LB- Cardinals Mar. 27 - 5:58 pm et

Cardinals OLB Joey Porter was arrested early Saturday in Bakersfield, California on suspicion of driving under the influence in addition to assaulting an officer and resisting arrest.

Porter refused to hand over his driver's license in a fast-food parking lot and began rolling up his car window. The assault charge seems to stem from Porter slapping an officer's hand as it was coming through the partially open window. Porter eventually cooperated with officers, though it was too late to undo the damage. Considering his history of assaulting Levi Jones, Porter could be up for suspension this time around. The Dolphins have to be feeling pretty good about dumping him.

Linebacker Joey Porter, one of the newest additions to the Arizona Cardinals, has become the latest addition to the Bakersfield jail.

Per TMZ, Porter has been popped for assaulting a police officer.

According to the report, a friend of Porter's was pulled over outside a Taco Bell. Joey pulled up, and a CHP officer smelled alcohol coming from Porter's car.

So when the officer asked for Porter's license, he refused to turn it over, rolling up the window to his vehicle. The officer then tried to reach in and unlock the door, and Porter slapped the officer's hand.

The officer grabbed Porter's arm, who got out of the car in a confrontational manner.

So the officer drew his pistol and ordered Porter onto the ground. Porter, apparently not fearing bullets after being shot in the *** in Denver, refused to comply. Eventually, he put his hands behind his head.
I didnt know Porter was involved in that shooting, thought it was wr from denver, Brandon Marshall?

Porter was charged with three misdemeanors -- DUI, resisting arrest, and assault on a peace officer.

He's lucky he wasn't shot, again.

Porter recently signed with the Cardinals, only a few weeks after being cut by the Dolphins.

His wife is defending him in the press? I am sure the race card will be pulled here, since this clown has no truth in him.
