3. Our Weekly Joey Sunshine Complaint.

Though we covered most of Joe Theismann's characteristic goof-ups in Monday night's Live Blog, we saved a doozy for the Ten-Pack.

Through Monday night's game, Sunshine was asking aloud whether Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger would be in game shape, given his offseason vroom-vroom-smash incident and his September 3 appendectomy. (As we mentioned in the Live Blog, Theismann ignores the fact that Roethlisberger's training camp and preseason workload were not diminished by either circumstance.)

So in the third quarter of Monday night's game, Theismann declares: "I'd say Ben's back."

But then only two plays later, Theismann is dissing Roethlisberger. "He doesn't look as comfortable throwing the football as I saw him throw it last year. The ball's been high a few times. It's been into the ground. He's nowhere near as accurate as he normally is."

Enter Tony Kornholer, who pounced on the discrepancy: "You said he was back two plays ago!"

Theismann tried to muster an explanation that tied the two observations, but it was too late. He has exposed himself again as a buffoon.

Personally, I like Theisman. He's passible with his knowledge of the game and as unhomerish as can be expected for a former player. You really have to be looking for it to detect a bias towards the Skins. Even when he says something dumb it's at least entertaining.

He was one of the few defending Bledsoe during the jag's game. And he says alot of positive things about the team if you listen to him. Kornholers bias is so obvious, as is his negativity. He was actually getting pissed that Joe was showing the love to Drew. He tries so hard to bait Theisman diring games. He's an antagonistic dick.

They could replace that whole crew with the guys they had doing the second game in their double header and have a much better show. Jaws has forgotten more about football than Thiesman will ever know and they actually had someone who could do play by play in the booth.

Joe has gotten better about his homerism than he used to be. In the past he was so much a homer and so anti-Cowboys that I could not stand to watch him. Before I would have turned the sound off and watch the game but it just isn't football without the crowd noise. Now Joe has finally come to terms with getting his butt kicked by the Cowboys so many times and was actually the best guy in the booth during the Cowboys game.

Kornholio and that other anonymous trog have no business in the booth. Neither of them bring anything of interest or importance to the game. This may be the worst crew ever; even worse than when Joe was with Maguire and Co.

Just give me a play by play guy calling the games. The vast majority of banter in the booth gets old very quickly when dealing with a 3 hour game.

That would be better than what they have on MNF now. The biggest problem now is that MNF has NO play by play...it seems that play by play is an afterthought if they get to it at all.

I do like a good color commentator if he knows football and sticks to football and doesn't talk over the plays. I think Jaws would make a great color man with a good play by play guy.

Tony really missed the boat. I doubt people tune in to MNF to hear him talk for 3 hours. Football fans watch MNF because we love the game of football. If the game is bad we may turn the channel but I don't know anyone who tunes in to hear the guys up in the booth talking.

I heard Broken Thighsman's ex-girlfriend do an interview several years ago.
Apparently he has severe mental problems and stalked her.
She got a trepassing warrant against him because he was caught peeking in her windows and threating to kill himself.

Kornheiser is bad, but he doesnt make you mout on mute, he keeps somewhat quiet.
And I think hes funny on PTI, but not every line has to be a joke

He's not at all anti-Cowboy, he's had plenty good to say about this season. Way more than necessary. Nor is he a "bafoon", he puts his foot in his mouth every once in a while, but he can also speak in intelligible sentences and make a rational point on occasion, which is better than some announcers. Some of you guys just decided to hate him for being a former Commander. Which I find ridiculous.

I don't think it's even close. There's never been a worse announcer than Maguire, period. It's not even close. At least Kornheiser realizes he doesn't have to say something every play and will let Thiesman or Tirico make a point with babbling incoherently.
