As free agency began Friday at 12:00 AM ET, the Patriots had no deal in place with Randy Moss, according to ESPN's John Clayton.
The 6'4 wideout with 4.3 speed and a 40'' vertical who scored 23 TDs last season is officially open to the highest bidder. The Patriots shouldn't be out of the picture, but the 31-year-old may as well look around.

as much as I would not mind him being here, he will be asking for more money than we can dish out.

Wouldn't it be cool of Randy, Santana, and Sinorice all played on the same team. Moss would score over 30 TDs in a season, especially if the QB were Manning, Brady, Favre, or Romo.

Yeah I don't either, but maybe if we keep trading and cutting players like Fergie, we can make some room.

Moss and the Pats are probably messing with the media. I seriously doubt Moss worked all season on changing his image and working with arguably the best QB in the league to just give NE the finger.

That, or maybe he's pulling a Garrett and viewing his net price.

Moss is not an East Coast Dude - he took a paycut and set NFL TD record - now he wants the money.....

JJ would have a HUGE splash if he signs Moss today.

MOSS STAYING PUT?

Sid Hartman of the Minneapolis Star-Tribune reports that receiver Randy Moss is "signed, sealed, and delivered" to remain in New England.

There has been no official word from the team of any deal.

On Thursday, the Panthers emerged as an unlikely potential candidate for his services.

He wants a ring and a solid QB. The Pats rings may be tainted, but they still have rings and are the modern day dynasty.

Brady>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Romo

Belichick>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Wade

NE's cap space>>>>>>>>>>>>>Boys' cap space

Moss' numbers in NE as the primary play maker>>>>>>>>>>>sharing catches with a guy he's not too fond of and said he would never play with

Let's be realistic here.

Now that we've spent big on Flo, I'd just as soon we re-up MBIII and Canty and worry about WR in the draft, especially considering we want to re-up TO, we already re-up'd Crayton and have several youngun WRs we are developing. I want the "wow" player as much as Jerry, but you have to be wise. No Mas for Da Boys.

Why? Because Im realistic and not being a blind homer? I cant stand the Pats, but what have we done the past 12 years to prove ourselves to be a contender?? Oh, that's right, now even win a playoff game much less get to a SB while they've done it 5 times and won 3 of them.

While I do agree with your points above, don't forget that Moss had originally had his heart set on being a Cowboy back in 1998.
