Without BP hammering him about following the play and no negative yards thing, he might be willing to run more like he did as a rookie.

I hope so cuz it was fun to watch JJ run like that. I'm still a believer in JJ and DO NOT want to trade him for say, a McGahee, as has been mentioned in other threads.....

yesterday on Inside the Huddle Clayton mentioned in a short burb that with the Davis signing and what we are looking at with Columbo and the rest of the line, we have all the makings of a 'power running game' which reminds me of the glory days with Newton, Erik Williams, Derek Kennard and the like... this is a change in philosophy from BP.. I just hope it will make JJ find those holes better than he did in the past...

If we resign Colombo then we will have changed ONE linemen on the entire OL. I wouldn't say that it changes the philosophy from BP.

Not only that, Parcells had a power running game scheme in place. Just because a coach likes guys who can pull and trap, doesn't mean he can't have a power running game strategy.

I don't see what Clayton said being very far off the mark. To me, having a 360lbs guard does mean we are going to a power game, regardless of who the running back is.
