He may not be the biggest or the strongest receiver in the 2017 NFL draft, but Washington’s John Ross might just be the fastest.

One of the most explosive playmakers in all of college football last season, Ross the undersized but speedy pass-catcher has been training for the NFL Combine, hoping to impress NFL decision-makers in Indianapolis.

According to MMQB’s Emily Kaplan, Ross says he recently ran a laser-timed 4.30-second 40-yard dash.

Only 13 players in Combine history have ever clocked a faster 40 time at the event.

I wouldn't draft him in the first rd, too much risk.two blown knees and 2 meniscus tears on top of that.now he is having labrum surgery.

Watching Ross get open with his route running prowess on top of his speed, and character from what I understand, makes him worth the risk. Football player.

I love this kid..but I'm not sure Dak is the QB for this kid

It's kind of like Putting Mike Wallace w Teddy Bridgewater...not a good fit

Mods plz merge into a semi-small Ross thread with the other one.

This is too much to keep up with.

I disagree.Ross is also a great YAC guy and we don't have that on our team.

Right..he's a good player..but if you don't utilize his deep threat ability..it's not worth a first rounder

Sam throws a pretty good deep ball up, especially towards the sidelines. I think part of it was not having a deep threat, but there's definitely a question of will he take enough shots to warrant that pick. Hopefully he feels more comfortable with the team and has a better defense where he doesn't have to be so conservative. That should lead to taking a few more risks down the field.

Let's see him do this at the Combine. So many players jaw off about running 4.2s and 4.3s then go to the Combine and run a 4.5. The ONLY player I saw say he was running 4.2s and do it in the spotlight was Chris Johnson.

I agree. I'm so sick of reading guys who say they run in the 4.3s, especially guys I know who aren't really that blazing fast.
