Eagles prepared for Runyan's age/FA/departure when they drafted Andrews in 2004.

We won't touch him because of his age.

Flo, LA, Rivera, Runyan.

That would be pathetic age and money-wise on the OL.

No interest. In Philly, this guy is also known as "Strahan's (female dog)". He's old and worn down.

You would think we would have learned our lesson on signing old OL for large sums of money by now after having been bit in the arse twice (Allen, Rivera). If we wanted to overpay a RT we should have brought in Kareem MacKenzie last year.

Well Runyan is 32, known as a tough guy.
Plays on one of 2004's top offensive machines.Subtract him from Philly and force the Eagles to plug the middle during the off season. Andrews is much touted but has proven nothing so far due to his sinus condition and a lack of progress offensively this yr.

I didn't know Stahan had handled him very well in the past. It's a little too early for FA talk for me anyway, check back in March on this one.

Strahan handles a lot of tackles and makes them his (female dog).

Still, I really don't want to add that much age on the OL. Just pony up the money and get a young, good player like Bentley (assuming he's available) at C and then allow Petitti time to progress. I'd much rather do that.

EDIT*

I mean, how can we find a good player in the later rounds when we plug him in as a 6th round rookie... and then when he struggles a little bit, we go out in FA and replace the guy. Petitti will be much better in year two and he hasn't been that bad this season.

Let the guy develop. If we do that then we might can help repair years of bad drafting by finding a good player in the 6th round. Otherwise, every late round guy we get who shows potential but isn't perfect will be benched and then go on to develop for another team. [/rant]

It's time we went with youth on the OL. Allen, Flo and Rivera aren't here in 2-3 years. Bringing in Runyon would just add to this 'problem.'

No thanks, Ill take Marcus McNeill a young guy. We really don't need anymore age on the OL thiswould be a horrible move.

We need to take the same surgical approach to improving our O-line that we took this year with the D-line. Bledsoe is Jekyll and Hyde depending on the O-line. When it performs well, he's an elite QB.
