C'mon guys, it's all about some Jared Lorenzen and the Northern Kentucky River Monsters!
Things could be worse. THAT guy ^^ could be our starting quarterback.
Alright now here's a few random thoughts I'd like to share. Normally right now I would be PISSED. After that game I was furious, I had to sit at Buffalo Wild Wings in South Carolina with all my friends who aren't Cowboys fans and if you know anything about South Carolina, 99% of the people there cheer for the Steelers, Deadskins, or anybody other than the Cowboys in the NFC East. My one buddy there who is a "Cowboys" fan left right after the game in shame. There was this black guy sitting a table over with his girl and surprisingly he wasn't a typical sports bar Cowboys fan after a loss. I was devastated and on the way out he said keep your head up.
And I thought about that. I was getting so mad about something I have no control over. Now I know that's part of being a fan, but at the end of the day so is trusting your players and coach. A lot of you guys want to blame Romo for the loss and honestly, for once I thought he did a lot in the second half to contribute to that loss. Was everybody else around him in sync? I have no idea, but I do think this is one time where you can hold him accountable. But that's part of being a human being. I have a friend from Boston who's a Pats fan, do you think he wants Tom Brady's head because of last week? Super Bowls aside, you realize that you've got a quarterback that does more good than bad and you deal with it.
Somebody in another thread mentioned Carson Palmer? Do you not think you'll get this from Carson Palmer on a weekly basis? And when he does have off days you're not going to get the accountability that you get from Romo. I'm wondering if some of you were even fans 6-7 years ago. I've seen enough of Chad Hutchinson, Quincy Carter, Vinny Testaverde, and Drew Bledsoe to keep my mouth shut for good about Romo. I'll hold Romo accountable, he screwed up big time in the second half this week. But I'll never complain about him being our QB, it's called appreciation and after going through what we've been through I appreciate him.
I can't wait til the Patriots game guys. Losses suck, I went through an array of emotions last night. I wanted to fight somebody, I wanted to cry (I've loved the Dallas Cowboys team since I was a little kid I really do,) I went home from Buffalo Wild Wings after the 4:00 games and heck I was just happy to be by myself. But just remember it's not the end of the world. It feels like it sometime. Then 7 days later it can feel like you're on top of the world, that's football.
I'm not mad anymore. I'm a little disapointed still, I have a lot of other feelings about it, but I'm not mad. I'm not gonna lie I'm not a pessimist, I'm not even really a realist, I'm more of an optimist. But what's fun about sports if you're going to be negative about something you have no control over? Only thing I have control over is what team I cheer for and the first 20 years of my life I've been a Dallas Cowboys fan. Nothing's ever going to change that. If you're so pissed with Tony Romo and the organization, nobody's forcing you to remain a Cowboys fan. Just something to think about.
Sorry about my little rant of sorts, but those are just a few things I really felt the need to say.
