Jon Jones-Chael Sonnen

Dude, I couldn't get a good look at that toe but from what I did see that thing did not look very fun.

Pretty awesome he finished and didn't even know his toe was jacked up like that?

Was the bone sticking out? Looked like it was bleeding.

Yep, that thing was popping through. Snapped right at the base of the toe, just cocked to the side and rotated like 60 degrees towards his other toes.

luckily he finished him in rd 1 ,or i think the fight would have been the other way. I was rooting for jones though

That toe was nasty, Jones is going to be out of action for a while cause that didn't look like your regular 4-6 weeks broken bone

A fighter said he had a similar injury and it took 2 months to heal and another month to rehab. So if it's 3 months then rehab, then back to working out like normal before he can do a camp for another fight, we're probably look at 6 months or so before we see Jon again.

I wish they hadn't stopped the fight so soon, I was enjoying watching Chael get his face beat in yet again.

I always say that the best thing you can do against a wrestler is put them on their back. Everyone is so scared of being taken down by a wrestler that they don't bother to think about taking the wrestler down.

Not that it's easy, but wrestlers are great at being on top but have far less weapons off their back.

I hate Chael the fighter but he is alright if you've ever heard him sit down and do a real interview.

He's an interesting guy. Can't stand how he promotes fights though.

Dunno if you watch Ultimate Fighter but he was a FANTASTIC coach. The funny thing is that Bisping is basically trying to take a page out of his book.

Now the guy is trash talking, talking about how he's gonna smash people and just generally being a jerk - which he's always been, but after the fight when he was basically telling the crowd they enjoyed the fight I just rolled my eyes. Like anyone wants to see Bisping as his pillow-fists fight for a championship.

Generally I don't like Chael but I understand the attitude.

I'm not surprised in the least that he lost but I did agree with him in the post fight press conference when he said that the top fighters should be calling Dana up and asking to fight the other top guys. I loved what he had to say about that and I completely agreed with him on it.

I also love how Dana pointed out that Silva had done just that. I think Silva called and told him he wanted the GSP fight. That's my guess.

Nobody wants that fight more than Dana. I wouldn't put it past Dana to say all these little things to build up animosity between GSP and Silva to make the fight happen.

Yeah i've heard him say he wants a Jon Jones Anderson Silva fight as well.

Personally i'd rather see Jones vs Silva. I think thats the better matchup.

I agree. I've been waiting for the Silva vs. GSP for years now, but the Jones Silva fight would be awesome.

Chael was a great coach on TUF.

I can see him making a Greg Jackson like mark in the sport as a coach.

I despise him getting all these big paydays for being a heel tho. He literally needed a miracle to win over Bones.

In his last 9 fights he is a mere 5-4. Of those 5 wins he has 4 decisions.

So basically he isn't fun to watch nor possessing of elite skill. He talks his way into big money fights.

There are interesting fights for him versus solid guys but not headliners.

If there is a GSP vs Silva fight it will be a career ender type fight.

GSP is simply too small for Silva and would have only his wrestling. Silva would have incredible length advantages and at the very least a draw for speed on the feet.

Both guys are big for their weight classes so it would be hard to get Silva down to a catchweight area of say 177.

Same can really be said for Bones versus Silva. Bones is just too long. He has more weapons than Silva would because he can wrestle at will and is the one guy with even nastier clinch game. Bones would have a decided strength advantage.

Bones going to HW is very likely to happen. He's wiped out these LHWs.
Looks like Cormier is willing to drop down to 205 first and test Jones.
That will be a real battle imho. Cormier is easily the better wrestler and has nasty stand up. DC would be stronger by a solid margin. I feel for Cormier's kidney's though as he cuts weight.

Im starting to think Jones could beat him.

The way he wrestled against chael was something else and it's going to take a wrestler to beat Anderson.

I'd love to see those 2 square off. It's gotta happen.

having beaten henderson, shogun and machida; it is clear jones would beat silva.

he is simply getting better and better while anderson is is still just a knock out artist that is now up in age.

silva would need a knock out to win and jones has too many weapons to use to prevent that.

I agree but Silva looks really good @ 205 so it's a tough call.

If anyone can crack the Jon Jones code it's Anderson.
