For the UFC fans. Jones has been stripped of his light heavyweight title and suspended from the UFC for his recent hit and run arrest. Daniel Cormier replaces him in the main event of UFC 187 to crown a new champion.

In all honesty I expected the UFC to protect him again.

I was really looking forward to AJ hitting Jones in the face however...

When the rumor of the story of the hit and run first broke I thought it was a madeup story, that is how ridiculous the whole thing sounded.

Man I really wanted to see that match up. DAMNIT!

I knew they were going to do this. I've been a huge fan of jones ever since his first ufc fight. I agree that this needs to happen. Hopefully he gets his head on straight. At least the 187 card is still looking good though. I might still get it. Hoping aj gets the belt now.

The accident took place at Juan Tabo and Southern in the NE Heights section of Albuquerque. Normally, that's a decent area but specifically, where he was at, it's not. In fact, that's pretty low rent. There is a specific area there where you have a lot of apartments and transient type individuals.

When the wreck happened, it was reported that he initially left the scene and then came back to grab a stack of bills, before leaving for good. There have been lots of rumors about Jones here locally. It's pretty much an open secret, he's got some issues going on.

I guess he put them into a position where they could no longer protect him.

Yeah. He has direct access to pretty much all of the APD chain of command. They are all fans of his and he has contact info for all of them. Hopefully, this is the best thing that could have happened to him. Now, I think he has to face the issues. If that goes good or bad, I can't say but I know this. If he doesn't deal with those issues, it's certain to end bad for him. At least now, he has a chance.

What are the locals saying exactly? Clearly, there is some substance abuse issue going on.

Very disappointing as I was looking forward to the bout with Rumble. First Anderson Silva and now Jon Jones. Not good for the UFC.

lol....wow....talk about a major fall. From the very top of his profession, as possibly the best pound for pound fighter in the world, to now a disgraced and exiled former champion.
