Bullard is a name that I don't see mentioned around here much, but he's a guy I can see Rod coveting on draft day. He may be a little small to play DT for most teams, and maybe not as explosive as you'd want for a 1st Round true DE... but in our scheme he could be outstanding as a 3-tech. He may very well go off the board towards the end of Round 1, but if he's there to start Day 2 I think the team has to take a long hard look. Especially if they let Hardy walk in FA, this is a guy who you can play outside on Running downs, slide inside on passing downs, and rotate at the 3T to spell Crawford.

EDIT: The highlight below has some profanity in the music, just an FYI for those that may want to mute.

I like the player a lot. Definitely a tweener but that's ok. He could play both SDE and 3 tech for us. I think he will definitely be a disruptive player on the d line, but will he ever be a full time starter at 1 position? Ehh not sure honestly. That's why I'm not sold on him at the top of the 2nd even though I like him. This is really deep DT class and there will likely be a bigger, pure DT that we have a 1st round grade on available there if we go that route. His best fit might actually be in a 4-3 over scheme that uses an oversized SDE like Seattle, Denver, Cinci, or Jax. A shorter Derek Wolfe probably isn't a bad comparison either in my opinion.

I see him him end of round one most mocks. Not sure they would go for strictly a 3 tech after paying Crawford. I think they go for a bigger player who can play 1 and 3.

I'm a huge fan of Bullard...despite him being a tweener (which would fit in with Marinelli's scheme anyway). Watch his game vs. Alabama, it was pretty impressive

I'm not taking a DE hoping he can be a 3T at 34 and definitely not taking a run stopping DE at 34. If we want a DT, theres no reason to take a guy who is changing positions over better natural DTs. This class is loaded at the position. Just take one of them and let Bullard go be a solid LDE in the right scheme.

I'm just kinda tired of all these SDE/3-tech 6'3" 285 pound guys. Seems like that's our entire D-line.

As an aside, is it like a rule that you have to show these highlight videos over rap music?

To me highlights to any soundtrack kill the credibility. Just highlights do enough themselves. You can make any average player look like a stud in a highlight video, its how alot of people fall in love with mediocre players.

I do like Bullock. He may be more of a pure 3 Tech, but he can fire through that gap, and this defense really needs that all over
