Jonathan Mingo vs 2025 top WR draft prospects

You can go on sites like pro-football-reference and look at past drafts. Its a humbling experience. A LOT of NFL draft picks simply don't have it and end up not doing much in the NFL.

I kind of think Jerry and Stephen should go through this exercise. All of these busts aren't hidden gems waiting to be unlocked by you sub par coaching staff. They are just busts. Giving up picks for other people's garbage is foolish, particularly 4th rounders.

Other teams are smart enough to throw away 6th and 7th rounders for these type of flyers, which usually don't work out themselves.

I mean there was a chance Mingo would’ve been cut…and Jerry is slinging a 4th rounder for him.

the problem with the draft always will be you are drafting humans with humans.

two chances to screw up.

There were literally 5 RBs taken quickly after we would’ve picked that all showed signs of being good players their rookie year.

Maybe you liked the “gambles” of trading for Lance and Mingo but we’re talking about 2 guys that had done borderline nothing in the NFL when we traded for them. Bad move IMO.
What 5 running backs? One I remember the kid in Tampa. Again if the Cowboys wanted them they would have drafted them instead of the linebacker or center in the 3rd round. I got the impression the only running back they liked was Brooks. Lord that would have been a disaster if they took him.

Draft list is posted everywhere…go check it out.

We got McDondald’s at home

Draft prospect evaluations are constantly changing based on college performances, combine results, and pro day workouts.

It is also important to note that performance in the NFL can vary greatly from college performance.

Analyzing player attributes involves considering their strengths in various on-field aspects. When comparing Jonathan Mingo to potential 2025 NFL Draft prospects, here's a breakdown of some potential positive attributes, keeping in mind that player evaluation is dynamic and depends on evolving performance:
  • Physicality and Size:
    • Mingo possesses a significant physical presence, which can be advantageous in contested catch situations and when battling defensive backs.1 This size can also be a plus in blocking situations.
  • Blocking Ability:
    • Often, larger receivers can contribute effectively to run blocking. If Mingo has demonstrated a willingness and capability in this area, it sets him apart, as blocking is a valuable but sometimes overlooked skill for wide receivers.
  • Contested Catch Strength:
    • His size and strength can make him a reliable target in tight coverage, particularly in the red zone. If he has shown the ability to win these 50/50 balls, it's a significant asset.
  • NFL Caliber Strength:
    • Having already time in the NFL, he has experience with the speed and physical nature of the game. That experience can be a great asset, compared to incoming rookies.
  • Experience:
    • Having NFL experience can be a large advantage. He has already had the chance to learn NFL playbooks, and game speed.2 This experience can put him ahead of fresh rookies.
well, the fact is mingo has been in the league for a few years and "prospect" doesn't apply any more. he has shown he has no potential and he sucks. you don't go back few years and pull out his bio...its irrelevant.
