Suspended Saints MLB Jonathan Vilma is suing commissioner Roger Goodell for defamation of character.

Vilma's complaint charges Goodell with making public statements concerning the linebacker which were "false, defamatory and injurious to Vilma's professional and personal reputation." The suit also claims Goodell failed to turn over evidence. The NFL's investigation announced that Vilma, as captain of the defense, aided coordinator Greg Williams in establishing and funding the team's infamous bounty program. Vilma's suit won't help his chances of playing in 2012

good for him - this should at least get the facts and evidence the NFL has put out on the table

I would like to take this time to thank the New Orleans Saints for providing so many laughs this off season.

They have a real GM, Mickey Loomis. No, it's true. I've read it on here a few times.

what a joke. i can't wait until he loses. he's just defamed his own character.

i swear the entire saints organization are a bunch of whining babies. they've been punished but won't stop complaining. maybe they need a spanking next.

I am enjoying it also:D It is always nice to have a drama-free Cowboys offseason...

I maintain my innocence... blah blah... Katrina!!!

Too much of this guy on tape for him to win this... he'll just be poorer from lawyers... he got some bad legal advice...

It's even more fun when you get to listen to the whining in local NOLA media!!

Their forum is hilarious with all the conspiracy theories. Some of their fans were talking about filing a class action lawsuit for their suffering. :lmao2:

Nice. The NFL and other players should sue him in return.

That would suffice. I hope they get an asterisk by their superbowl year.

You mean all the years they wore bags on their head and called themselves the Aints....and they never filed a lawsuit against their own team....but now they want to act as if they are suffering....

what a bunch of flippin idiots.....

I swear this entire situation is showing me that people from Louisiana have no self-accountability....it seems like they are victims and it is someone else's fault.....never do they bring this on themselves....they are not the perpetrators or instigators.....they are the victims.

Talk about a desperate move, he has no chance to win this.

Adding one more comment on the whole "Katrina" fatigue thing: as much as Katrina was a devastating storm to many on the Gulf Coast (specifically Mississippi and the New Orleans area), it has long ago been time to move on!!

My family was pretty lucky; we had about 6 inches of water in our home. All flooring and base boards needed to be replaced. The roof wasn't off but was damaged. However, many of my neighbors (in Jefferson Parish, just west of the city of New Orleans) were living in FEMA trailers because some had several feet of water, requiring a complete overhaul of the ground floor of their homes. And because so many people needed so much work, the backlog and waiting lists for contractors was long.

BUT...the difference between my community and those in the inner city of New Orleans is that we don't completely rely on government to get something done!! It took about a year for my neighborhood to get back to almost-normal, but the inner city of NOLA is still not back. It's ridiculous.

So, as much as it pains all of you to keep hearing about Katrina, it pains me too....so tired of hearing it used as an excuse for EVERYTHING. It's long past time to get over it.

And yes, it is the primary reason why the Saints did so well in the 2006 season and the 2009 season....I think the erroneous calls were actually worse in 2006, and they probably would have won that Super Bowl if the wheels hadn't come off the wagon in the NFC Championship against the Bears.

Consider this post therapeutic...I've wanted to say this to someone for a long time. I don't hate my hometown, but I consider my hometown to be Metairie, LA -- not New Orleans (even though that's where I was born). I have almost NO RESPECT for New Orleans anymore, and that includes the Saints football team.

Getting off the soap box....if you read all of that, thanks for letting me blow off some steam.
