Vilma was on the Hotseat on Sportscenter. He was asked which QB was the hardest to take down and Vilma said "I'd have to say Drew Bledsoe." The host said "What? He gets sacked like 140 times a year!" to which Vilma replied "Well, you still have to get the guy down. Drew is a big guy and pretty hard to take down." So...I guess it means we will use a little more clock time when he gets sacked, eh?

Guess he forgot that Bledsoe's in Dallas now.

No, Vilma played against Bledsoe last year. I meant if Bledsoe is hard to take down like Vilma says we will use up more of the clock now that he's in Dallas.

Believe it or not, I noticed this about Drew early in his career. I've seen many a player grab, and/or hit enough of him only to bounce off. These plays would easily have resulted in sacks of most other QB's. His height definately gives him this advantage. It gives him a higher base. It requires a clean shot to bring him down. Defenders who use arm tackles while engaged or come clean with a poor angle, often fall off of him.

This is true. You watch, even when a DL has him wrapped up it takes awhile to bring him down. I've noticed this throughout his career, he fights like heck not to be taken down.

And when he finally goes down, it's a long fall that often results in the ball coming loose. Buffalo's OL must have really sucked-- first with Rob Johnson and then Drew Bledsoe.

I'll predict Bledsoe throws more TD passes than Vick does this year!!!

I guess he's big but I can't see how he could be harder to tackle than Culpepper, McNabb, and Roethlisberger. I'm assuming they are talking about tackling them once you get your hands on them.
