This is a perfect argument for the “don’t pay rbs” crowd. Ronald Jones was averaging 5 yards per carry in 2020 and by his mid 20s has been taking near minimum deals and trying to stick on practice squads.

Pollard may fall off the cliff this year.

I’ll hate it if I’m right, but going into the season relying on TP to be our every down back is crazy:
No, going into the season counting on Tyron Smith and Bohanna is nuts!!

2020 Ronald Jones went 192 for 978yds and 7 TD's (when he was given a load) ( Did he fall out of favor?)

2022 Pollard went 193 for 1007 yds and 9 TD's

Both 25years old.
Eh, difference! Pollard did his last year. Jones was in 2020, and has been in decline since… precipitously last year!

Jones is injury insurance. Jones footwork, vision, and lack of wiggle will hurt him in the competition with the other RBs Dallas has and will draft.

Which RB is faster, but not just that, shiftier, more elusive. Better in the passing game, as well, pass protection.
Which one sees the field better and knows which holes to hit in a quick decision.

Jones got hurt near the end of the season and Fournette had a great run of games, including in the playoffs and Super Bowl. There also appear to have been some pass protection and receiving concerns with Jones. Don't know if Kansas City had some of the same concerns after signing him or he just got off to a poor start and fell behind the other backs.

As we can see from last year with Elliott and Pollard, sometimes when you start out behind another player, it can be tough to overtake that player, even when you are playing better. It's not easy for coaches to make changes unless something is just not working.

If he does thankfully it’s a one year deal…but these guys don’t really fall off until they sign long term lol.

What my stance is leaning toward is, this is good enough production. Get us "Big Uglies" and this team will go far.

Exactly. The reason “running backs don’t matter” is because their primary job is to run through a hole that was created by someone else.

Yup like i said, youre drafting these 2 combo's are available take your pick of which one does better

you can draft Zack Martin in the 1st and TP in the 4th OR

you can draft Barkley in the 1st to run behind McGovern in the 3rd

Which combo is better?
