Jones can't evaluate talent

The jones boys and McClay can’t evaluate talent. That’s why they keep taking offensive lineman. It’s a safe pick. They are afraid to take a chance on a skill player. We needed a Running Back. If they don’t pick one in the second round we know they had no plan.
CD Lamb worked out pretty well

Those trades are seen similar to the FAs we get. Breece Hall would be a quality trade. But quality trades cost picks or players. Quality FAs cost a lot of money. They don't want to give up either.
Those trades were to add depth with players that can also step in right away.
They are not trading for top players to break the bank. As fans want top players, then turn around and complain about how much that players is paid, and not producing.

And it is not about giving up the money, they have a cap, as ALL teams do, to work with. That money does not go into their long term pocket fund.

I would say they are at their worst evaluating talent in regards who to pay..

If you go into the draft deciding you are just going to pick RB no matter what you deserve it when you end up with a player like a Taco or a Trysten Hill. Great players help teams regardless of the position, plus this team has so many holes that it would be hard to take a guy who didn't fill a need. You can watch the War Room and tell if it's fake joy or real joy. That was not a group of coaches who felt their owner and head scout just made a safe pick and had no plan. You can disagree with the actual player taken, but IMO what I want more than anything is to know the team took a guy that they loved and not a guy they felt filled the biggest hole. Round 1 for me the Jones Boyz and crew get a big thumbs up. That is what the draft is about and especially for teams that aren't one player away from a SB like us

Our team building philosophy clearly begins upfront. How can we fault that? Way you win his hitting teams in the chops, bust some lips, bloody some noses. Set the tone. Bully ball is what we been crying for and looks like we are getting it, yet many are in here complaining still. Ridiculous.

The Cowboys have made it crystal clear since the day they hired Schotty that the running game is going to change and be a big emphasis from now on. They went out and got 2 new OL coaches and now have added a monster OG. All they are doing is following through on what they said. You are just looking for something to complain about.

You do know it was only the 1st round, and it is a deep RB class.
I wouldn’t have taken a RB at 12. Booker is a good player. I probably wouldn’t have taken him at 12 myself but he’s played against done good defenses and done well. I would have taken grant but mazi is probably why he wasn’t even cobsidered

No they have no drafted well, really beyond offensive linemen. McClay is so overrated
So true.

And even OL they busted now two times.

McClay knows why he stays in Dallad. He is not good.

We still have people who think we are a good drafting team because we found Fredricks and Martin under Garrett. But that is now decades ago. When i look at the last 8 drafts we werent able to find at least one first day starter on a regular basis.

This is 100% accurate and true.

You build a team from the inside out. The regular season success this team has had over the last 10+ years only began when the o-line was built with premium draft picks. When the team has struggled the decline of the o-line has been a top excuse for those struggles. It is easier to get skill positions in FA then it is to get top tier o-linemen. A top tier o-lineman or three can set a team up for a decade of consistency.

Now the Jones need to extend this philosophy to the interior d-line.

I ha
You can build the trenches in free agency. They had already picked up a veteran guard and they still got Hoffman. All this pick does is tell me they regard guyton has a bust. Jerry said it last night. When he said this increases the chances of a solid oline.
I had the same thought. This move is hedging against Guyton not making it as a pro. They can still move Tyler Smith to LT, Booker to LG, and Hoffman to RG if Guyton flops again.

Still what he says is true.

Your arguments have nothing to do with talent Evaluation. You are saying that the FO did what they said. True. But that wasnt his point.

And of course we all have something to complain. And rightfully so. No need to put us like we are complaing just because we want to. Trying to twist things around just to fit your opinion is disrespectful.

This franchise is and was one of the worst in the last 2 decades. This FO is plain bad. And it needs to be said as long as it is that way. You see that it needs to be said, because there are still people (like it seems you) that give them accolades for the rubbish they do. I cant believe that there are still people around who are trying to support what they do. It remindes me of those flat earthers who still deny to accept that the earth is round. Regardless of how stupid and shizophren it is they will always argue against the obvious and proven fact.

RG, what Booker will certainly be used at, is the least important position at the OL. If you are calling yourself a team that builds thru the draft and advertises itself as good at it (like we do) RG is a position you should be able to fill with a high thrid round pick. Maybe if you are unsure (and therefore not so good at talent evaluation) you take one in the midth of the 2nd round.

But we need to throw away Premium picks on less important positions because we are not able to evaluate talent.

Just in case you dont understand: Booker has talent. That we needed to draft him shows that we are not able to evaluate lesser known players with good talent the right way.
