Jones covers Garrett's butt with WR trade

EXACTLY what I thought when I heard of the deal....the Crypt Keeper wants it to appear as if The Clapping Carrot was sent into the season with a short stick. Thus, buying him ANOTHER year to play dress up on the sidelines with his Bat Utility Belt. This whole situation just sucks!!!!!!!!

I like how tidy he looks on the sidelines. Pants neatly pressed, shirt new. Oakley's nice and shiny. Manicured hands for max-clapping efficiency. Spittle in small non-stain quantities. You can barely see the power button on the new RHG-D2 replicant. He doesn't have the latest tech inside, but it definitely can pass for a real boy. I heard it beat the CPU on the ColecoVision in both Football AND Baseball.

I don't know that he covered Garrett's butt, if anything this says Jones believes the Cowboys have the personnel to win now.

I'm not sure we do and I think it's going to be difficult for Garrett or really any coach to meet that expectation.

This was a classic distraction move. There are a pile of Wide Receivers out there better then Cooper that would have been better and available for a number 1 pick.

No other way to put it. Jones is deflecting off of Garrett's shortcomings by paying a #1 pick for Cooper. Screw the rest of the season. Nothing is going to change.
so getting Dak help with a very viable receiver is now called covering ***. Well thats fair

Jerry Jones/Stephen Jones think they're still Jimmy Johnson. They think they can wheel and deal into success. And because Jerry is a bit senile, he doesn't remember the error of being one receiver away like he thought with Joey Galloway and Roy Williams.
Even many of the fans knew those were terrible trades just as they can now. :(

Here’s why I’m not going excited

Jack Del Rio/Gruden who have had success in the past couldn’t solve the cooper conundrum, what makes you think Garrett, who is inferior to both, will?

Derek Carr couldn’t figure it out and he’s leagues ahead of Prescott in terms of passing.

I think the problem here is the scheme and qb, not the wideouts

I disagree . This gives the current offensive coaches no excuses .
Pusu imo

Not going to save him because Cooper isn't going to make one bit of difference or at least not much of one. Is the OL going to be elite again? Is Dak going to be able to hit his WR's? Is Garrett going to learn clock management? All offseason some of us said we need better WR's and all I heard was we don't need a #1. Well you don't trade a #1 draft pick for one..not when there are so many uncertainties with this team.

The fire Garret train has gained too much momentum. Editors all over are talking about he's holding the team back. That has to get to JJ
Despite 22 seasons (and counting) of mediocrity, the Cowboys are the most valuable sports franchise on the planet, while perennially remaining at or near the top in every measuarable NFL revenue stream.

THAT’S what gets to JJ.

On the radio today, they were saying that it would be more likely after the Cooper trade that if the team doesn't make the playoffs that Jason is gone.

Derek Carr is not “leagues better” than Dak.
