In my opinion Jones is dragging his feet on naming Garrett Head Coach because this way he can interview guy's for the DC position acting like it's for the HC position if he named Garrett now than he can't Interview someone that might be looked as a Lateral move. I'm pretty sure that's what Jones is doing.

With Bowles, yes.

But from what I've read, JJ is pretty much done with the search.

I think we should hear something very soon. Maybe today?

.... OR it could be that he may be weighing his other HC options. Is that not possible as well. If it was me and I was sold on a guy, I would have already made an annoucement.

Exactly! This is Jerry Jones' opportunity to gather as much information from as many suitable candidates as possible. That's what a responsible, dilligent GM should do. Jones also always talks about always maintianing a list of posisble coaches, even when one is in place. So what if Bowles is not hired as HC or DC, does that mean the interview was pointless? No, it means he's a potential candidate listed on that candidate list (presuming the interview went well). That's why I believe Jones when he says he's taking these interviews seriously, and in Bowles' case, not just doing it for the sake of the rooney rule.

The announcement will come today sometime. Jerry is not going to upstage the Cotton Bowl tomorrow.

Regarding the Cotton Bowl, our future #1 pick, Patrick Peterson needs to fall in love with our house.

i love it when you get your pet cats. :D

the main team between us and peterson as it stands today is the broncos in my mind - esp if bailey is gone. which team do you think mostly likely stands in the way as of today?

Peterson will be gone by 9. He is simply too good:(

There is a chance if NFL teams view him as a safety.

If he is viewed as a corner.. Buh Bye.

Jerry is doing what he did when he hired Wade.

He is assembling his staff and using the HC opening to get all the interviewees in he desires.

On one level it is a shrewd move, on another is sets a rather ugly scene because the HC should have 100% full control over his staff, not a handshake agreement and direct line to the owner.

I think its been proven that Big Corners do not tend to succeed in the NFL. Is there been any that size who have been really good?

IMHO he is the top prospect at either position.

I don't think there is a chance he lasts past 5.

so you look for jones to be the power hungry freak you want him to be so you can get mad he's a power hungry freak so you invent scenarios that back up what you say and then choose to believe them cause you want to.

wasn't deion around 6' 1 or so? though he clearly did not weight as much as peterson.

Whats sad is Jerry is too scared to listen to anyones opinion that has experience in this league.

The guy just wont step out of his comfort zone and it's sickening and to our detriment.

i was thinking if he slides by the broncos he could possibly make it to us.

Wishful thinking from a Garrett Hater.

Uh, he listens to a lot of opinions, including still talking to Bill Parcells on a regular basis.

yea, it's almost as bad as the infatuation people have with him and they can't quit making him out to be likely worse than he really is cause those people can't step out of their own comfort zone.
