This week’s edition of Cowboys Executives Say The Darnedest Things has an extended version.

Apart from owner Jerry Jones commenting (again)on the betting line for his team’s game, Jones has linked quarterback Tony Romo’s reduction in turnovers to his involvement in game planning.

“Romo’s additional involvement, and I’m talking about in the actual preparation of the game plan — his early-week work — a part of that should have, and has, brought along a more sensitivity about protecting the ball and about the bad play,” Jones said during a weekly segment with 105.3 The Fan in Dallas on Friday, via Carlos Mendez of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. “And I think you’re seeing that at work.”

Jones thinks that Romo now has an even greater incentive to avoid turnovers and “the bad play.”

Not sure what to do.

Should I....

Take offense?

Write a manifesto about why Jerry shouldn't be GM?

Flip my key board over and curse the name Jones?

Or not care?

I'm all for Tony Romo building a game plan that has him making sure the football is protected.

The idea that at the age of 33, Tony Romo figured out that turning the ball over is bad by meeting with the coaches for game planning is just silly. I don't know where Jerry gets this stuff.

It is the "secret sauce", Jerry has been hitting it again

In this order:
all of the above? :D

I just wish our "GM" didn't have the narcissistic need/drive to see himself in print and in front of a microphone...while I don't mind that he said this stuff, why say it at all? how many GMs or owners are quoted EVERY day???

btw, love him as the owner, not so much as the GM (just so everyone knows where I fall in that debate)

I pretty sure only throwing the ball down the field like 10 times in 3 games is the main reason for fewer turnovers. A lot harder to pick off a checkdown.

Romo's involvement in the game planning is having one obvious effect. If Dallas scores a TD in the 1st quarter today, it will equal the 1st-quarter TD total for the whole season last year.
