We need to kind of accept the fact that we lucked into this offensive line. I don't really care, I mean, I'm glad we have it, but this wasn't some grand plan by the organization. Anyone who saw Garrett sulking in the war room when we didn't get Sharrif Floyd (and I remember Birddog saying Garrett also wanted Eifert), or heard Jerry gushing over Manziel (hey, I wanted him too) and how he had to be pried away from pulling the trigger on picking him can attest to that.

I don't get this. Let's assume, as you suggest, that we didn't have universal agreement in the war room on the picks that were in fact made. That makes those picks lucky?

He was a team captain on a national championship team.....I think the point of the poster is still relevant even if he wasn't an all-pro

One thing to note about being a team captain - every senior on the 1964 Arkansas team was a team captain. Jimmy Johnson and Ken Hatfield included.

I agree that Jones should know better having played the position, but he is more concerned with flash than substance in many aspects of his life. If he has had an awakening in his opinion, terrific. If not, it's good that the circle advising him has impacted him enough to make better decisions. I don't really care which one it is, but that the decisions being made are sound.

I don't think this is correct. Jones was a middling, injury prone player who didn't start until his senior year. Not to diminish his contribution to a national championship team, but I have never seen him recognized as an all-SWC player in any publication.

Not surprising that Romo had to plead for help on the OL, seeing as how he spent most of his career running for his life to escape the constant pass rushing pressure he got. I think it's a discredit to our former drafting that he had to beg for relief before he finally got it after doing without for so long. All's well that ends well, however.

You know I wonder how many people in the organization haven't taken some sort of credit for wanting to rebuild the OL and / or credit for wanting this or that OL player. LOL.
