We must remember Tyron started as a Rookie too. Just saying.

I’m not sure Tyler if he wasn’t 1st Rd pick would have even won LG starting spot.
Well if he would not have beat out McGovern then McG must have improved a lot form last year. Because from what I saw from Tyler in preseason there is no way he should not beat out McGovern

It’s tough to say how we’ll strategize.
We may just put him out there and see how he reacts .

We have a veteran top 12 caliber QB , solid RB and fairly seasoned OL with some starters and backups . It shouldn’t be a total collapse .

Dak is mobile . Just do some dinking and dunking and roll outs to the right. Hut hut on 2. Lol
Lots of 3 step drops.
Pretty much lose our deep passing game.

Tyron started as a rookie at RT, Free was the LT. The team decided Smith needed seasoning before moving to the more important LT spot. Smith spent the entire 2011 season at RT.

I’m aware of that . But just saying..

I’m sure that’s how our leadership is viewing it.
Well. Our "leadership" should be out there pounding the phones for a vet instead of throwing an injured player at LT because they want to prove they were right.

We can put all of the other rumors and discussion to rest now . Jethro has let the cat out of the bag officially.
But I read on the Zone Jerry doesn’t make these decisions he’s just a figurehead now. The word came down from the guy up there, god has spoken just coach him up and bingo a starting left tackle, got to love Jerry the almighty.

Don’t worry Jerry has a plan, didn’t you listen to him Tyron will be back for the playoffs. Don’t you trust the guiding force of the cowboys the last 27 seasons to do the right thing, it’s not his fault everyone else fails at their job every season. Can’t wait for games to begin, this is a championship roster the vets just need to step it up. Meanwhile MM is getting a massage while Jerry works with the coaches.

Yea, it is what it is and why we really shouldn’t take this football franchise with their dysfunctional leadership too seriously:)

Sure, but they don’t appear to be doing as such. Sadly, I’m not a bit surprised .

I use to believe even a blind squirrel finds a acorn occasionally but I think our blind squirrel is lame too.

I don't think he's ready but if they truly believe he will be a future LT, I'd rather just get the lumps over with.

Thank goodness that they were smart enough to draft a left tackle with their 1st round pick to replace Tyron and they still got Sam Williams in the 2nd round as well. This actually could work out very well. They still need to add some depth at tackle and that should be coming shortly.

Like most I think, my biggest concerns about T Smith 73 starting at LT is that he has been at LG all camp even though the team said they were going to split his reps, he is banged up now and hopefully can practice in full today or soon, him at LT means McGovern at LG next to him which isn't going to help and the fact that I don't know if he was NFL ready to play LT week 1 even if he did play it more in camp. But I think he showed his talent in the preseason games and in camp. I think he won't struggle much in the run game and the power is evident. I think he showed the athletic ability to play LT but I don't know if he has the feet for it right now. I want to see how he does against outside rushes and if he gets grabby. But I think he has the talent. Only question is, is he ready for week 1. If we brought in a LG to play next to him I really wouldn't be too worried about anything but picking up his switches, adjusting to stunts and to see if the penalties are a real concern or not. If nothing else we'll get to see how he does when thrown into the fire. I'm excited to see the kid play when the lights come on

But unlike Tyler, he practiced there for the entire training camp, right? And if Tyler can't start at LG, he's not going to be great at LT initially. Poor Dak!

It’d be too easy to try to find a serviceable left tackle…let’s toss the rookie to the wolves…good grief this team is run so bad.

We better hope the defence wins a bunch of games…
