For a team that is supposed to have an emphasis on Special Teams, how is this guy our kicker?

I knew this guy was bad news. Even with the 9ers he was awful. If he makes the 41 yard field goal in the 1st quarter, none of Moss's TDs mean squat.

Brian Simmaneau made a PAT for the Eagles yesterday and our KICKER can't make a 41 yard field goal.

Ridiculous.

A missed FG, 6 minutes in the game, did not determine the outcome of the game.

It was bad luck that Cundiff got injured in training camp, but I can't believe Cortez was the best alternative even going into camp.

Couple of bad snaps on punts. McBriar did a good job of handling them, but on one he rushed and booted it into the end zone. Perhaps if there was a good snap, he could have pinned them deep.

Yes, it did... if he makes that kick, nothing that happened in the last 5 minutes of the game matters even a little bit...

And the point is, this is not an isolated episode with him, he has stunk ever since he came into the league... we deserved what we got, for giving a no-talent bum like him the starting job in the first place...

If there were a better alternative, he'd be here.

what can you do? draft a kicker like a lot of teams have started doing? when is Jerry going to stop thinking he can find one on the street? A punter maybe, but not a guy that has to put it through the uprights.

Cortez really is garbage, though. He stunk when he was with the niners, and every week i kept wondering "How long are they going to stick with this guy?" finally they cut him, fast forward a couple of seasons and here he is.

Id see what was out there on the street if i were BP and kick cortez to the curb. He will cost us another game or two or three this season, just like he did when he was at SF.

The guy on the other team looked better and he was signed this week. Heck, I am a Cundiff supporter and always felt he was overly criticized. Wish he would have stayed healthy.

I agree that Cortez did not lose the game, but it does hurt to blow scoring opportunities.

I have to agree. Missed field goals can come back and haunt you.

16-0 with 3 minutes left would of forced washington to try and make 2 point conversions after those touchdowns.

But thats the way the cookie crumbles I guess. Like parcells says, there is always next week.

Why did we get rid of the rookie kicker? The one the Commanders have, now?

Why can't we sign a young promising kicker that was successful in college?

We can't rely on our kicker to win games for us if Cortez is kept on the team. I miss Cundiff.

Basic math says it is. 13 + 3 = 16, and 16 > 14.

Or at worse 16 =16 and it goes to OT. Or having 16 points changes the play calling the rest of the game on both sides of the ball for Dallas. Or countless other scenarios. The Butterfly Effect.

Throw around all the stats you want between Cundiff and Cortez; Cortez stinks and he proved it once again. I try to pull for all of our players, but this guy has a track record of not being a dependable kicker. Find a replacement or score more TD's on offense......

PS: I know he isn't the only one who goofed last night, but plenty of people saw this coming when we signed the guy. He stinks!
