Josh Brent really was a good pick for us in the supplemental draft, we got a better prospect than we would of gotten in this upcoming draft. He was liked by many players especially Ratliff and several coaches that saw the potential. I think he played solid for us this year played better than most people thought he'd play and got some good playing time, I think we should get atleast one NT, a veteran NT to show the him what a 2 gap 3-4 Defense should be played, he shows alot of strength to push back opposing guards and centers, can he be moved to DE maybe be our NGATA, then maybe we can get a NT? Maybe we might have our NT in place. What do you all think?

I would like to see us get a massive NT for the different looks RR may want to play on defense.

There are a few guys in the Draft, and there is always the FA route.

I'd point out that with the number of teams now playing the 34, the FA route is probably going to be more expensive than before.

But maybe there is a cheaper, older option in FA that could suit us for a year or two . . . . kind of like our Flo Adams until we groom a suitable replacement.

Like a Shaun Rogers?Rob loves him som Shaun Rogers and it makes sense since he'll come to his home state...hes as massive as they get

I was thinking someone like him. Stop gap type, but could be effective if healthy. RR knows Rogers well, so he will have the inside scoop. Also, there are probably a couple other candidates out there as well.

i think he was on his last yr in contract with the Browns so he might be available at a good not so high price which is good, yea there might be others but i think Rob knowing him and having him played for him he has an edge over the others.

Our "big body" lineman has been off to the side in Marcus Spears.

I wonder of Rob Ryan would try to flex the defensive line a little bit and switch Spears and Ratliff.

I also wonder what his plans are for Ratliff.

If people don't want Ratliff at NT, Spears wouldn't be any better. He's about 8 pounds heavier than Ratliff at most.
