This guy is clearly an addict..can't trust him...trade him to the Braves, thanks

The guy is going to struggle with his addictions for the rest of his life. A minor slip up shouldn't be a reason to demonize him. I'd gladly have him on my team.

No thanks...My Braves have enough issues.

We don't need a injury-proned junkie.

Are you crazy?!?

Enough issues? Yeah, like we can't hit a baseball..we need a bat in the WORST way, our lineup BLOWS

Exactly this. Yes it sucks, but at least it wasn't something illegal. He is going to have to battle this the rest of his life.

I would luv to have his bat but you can't depend on a injury prone junkie

I hope he can get it together again, it must have been a really tough winter with all the prince fielder talk. Hopefully he can get his head on straight and go another 3 years before he has another drink

I saw on Yahoo that he is supposed to hold a press conference at 1 PM, Dallas time.

No telling how much this has cost him in trying to get him a long-term contract from the Rangers.

If I'm a bartender, and I see Josh Hamilton walking into the bar, knowing his past history, I refuse to serve him.

Thoughts?

Unless he's doing more than drinking right now, this is a pretty gross mischaracterization.

Not only the Fielder talk, but also remember it was Josh who threw the ball in the stands when Shannon Stone fell out and died. That has to have been weighing on him big time all these months as well.

He just can't be trusted at this point. I'm disappointed at his press conference...I think he's done. Unfortunately for him, he needs baseball to stay away from those demons but a baseball career doesn't last forever.

I don't want to live in a country where a man can't take a shot out of a hooker's belly button without being questioned by the media.

babe ruth smoked cigars and boozed it up and was fat.

Wasn't aware that being a drinker now made you immediately a junkie as well.

Nice over statement though.

He is both an addict and an alcoholic.

Well, he said he wanted a contract before spring training or he was going to self it until the end of the season. After the relaps, both sides agreed to shelf it now until the end of the season anyway.

I think he needs the Texas Rangers more than the Rangers need him. He has friends on this team that look out for him and genuinely care about him. I think both sides will be happy with a fair deal next offseason. I doubt the Ramgers will overpay.

I'm behind you Josh. Stay strong man.

Regardless I'm excited baseball is about to start up again after that wretched football season.

Some people can drink responsibly.

Other people can't and we call them "alcoholics".
