Michigan cornerback Jourdan Lewis was arrested this week and faces a domestic violence charge following a fight at home with his girlfriend. As always, it takes time for these situations to become clear, and everyone should be considered innocent until proven guilty.

NFL teams may not have that luxury, though. With the draft in six weeks, Lewis' legal situation may not be solved. That, said one director of player personnel, makes it a tough evaluation. "If he's facing domestic violence charges, he'll be off our board completely" said the director.

This sounds like a quote out of a dystopian novel.

"If he's facing domestic violence charges, he'll be off our board completely" said the director.

Why not just execute him based on accusation?

We see this every year and we have to wonder how much of this is players abusing women and how much of it is women using the system to try to destroy a man she has a beef with?

The truth needs to be flushed out but the simple accusation should not result in a player being off a teams board. IMO!

I doubt he was going to be taken in the second or third anyway. He's short, think and ran in the 4.5s. He was looking at, at best, the fourth round. He'll drop to the sixth, IMO.
He was a late 3rd on most recent mock I did and that's probably about right.
He has 2nd round game tape but 4.55 at his size is bleh.
This certainly won't help him one bit.

Think having Harbaugh as a coach will help provided Harbaugh gives him glowing reviews.

According to the Ann Arbor police report detailing last week’s incident, obtained by Land of 10 through a Freedom of Information Act request, the alleged victim called police to report an assault. She told police she arrived home to find lights on in Lewis’ apartment, and that she and Lewis “got into a heated argument about the light being left on and who pays the bills.” Lewis threw two pillows and a blanket, which hit her in the face.

At that point, according to the report, Lewis went into the bedroom closet and shut the door. The alleged victim stated that Lewis was punching the door from the inside and that she went into the closet to make sure he was not causing damage.

“At some point Lewis stepped on her hair,” the police report stated, noting that the woman did not know how she ended up on the ground. The alleged victim said Lewis dragged her across the living room floor and stated that Lewis grabbed her by the neck and held her on the floor “for about three seconds.”

The woman told police she was not injured, and that Lewis left the apartment. The police called Lewis on his cell phone and located him on State Street and Granger Street, just south of Michigan’s football offices.

Lewis, according to the report, told police officers that the alleged victim “would not leave him alone about wanting an apology so he was going to leave the house.” He said he was getting dressed in the closet and was trying to hold the door shut when she forced open the door and struck him in the face. Lewis said that as he left, she grabbed his leg in an attempt to keep him from leaving.

“When asked if Lewis had grabbed (the woman’s) throat he stated that he may have grabbed it while trying to get her off him but had no intentions to hurt (her),” the police report said. “Lewis stated at no time was he trying to assault (her), he was trying to leave.”

Neither Lewis nor the alleged victim was injured, according to the report. The alleged victim had scratches on her nose and on her left hand that were photographed by police, but there were no visible marks on her neck.

He could be one of the best picks in the draft in the 3rd or 4th round and he will be a hungry player.
