Officially, he’s questionable. Unofficially, he’s very questionable.

But Giants defensive end Jason Pierre-Paulcould still play on Sunday night against the Cowboys, roughly 12 weeks removed from back surgery.

Per a source with knowledge of the situation, it’s truly a game-time decision, with Pierre-Paul currently on the borderline to play. His availability will depend largely on how he feels during pre-game warmups.

Hopefully he doesn't play. I still remember him throwing Tyron Smith aside like a rag doll.

He does give Tyron more than he can handle.
At least he has in the past.

Folks, this guy has a back disc issue. He will never be the same player we saw 2 years ago.

If he can play without being pretty certain of causing more injury he will play. Their defense is entirely dependent on pass rush to be effective. Their LB stink. Their secondary wasn't great before it started losing players. If they don't get a rush they should be lit.

Ooh...
No bueno.
Back injuries are the worst. He may be on a rival team, but you never want to see such serious injuries happen to players that you know will transcend into their livelihood.

Having said that- maybe no more rag-dolling #77!

Let us not kid ourselves, he will play. Better question is, at what level?

Here's a thing to consider about JPP - in the last 7 games of the 2012 season he had 0 sacks.

In the previous 25 games he had 23 sacks.

Statistical blip, temporary period of poor production due to injury or permanent impairment of football ability from back injury requiring surgery? I know people will talk about him finally having surgery to "fix" the problem except the surgery doesn't fix the problem so much as it changes the problem. You cut off a piece of the disc to relieve nerve pressure but you do so at the expense of permanent weakening of the disc. The thing we don't know is how much of JPP's problem was the "pinched nerve" and how much of his problem was from the disc injury in and of itself.

I read on a Giants message board that JPP said if he couldn't play the whole game that he would sit out. He doesn't want to be a "situational" player this game.

He will 100% play and probably at a decently high level as well.

He'll play, not question. The fact that he's even talking about it after surgery tells me everything I need to know about medical clearance. However not sure how effective he'll be, back surgery is no joke and the mental aspect is huge in being able to trust your body.

of course he'll play, just as he'll be in line for the pain killer injection before the game.
