Could Juanyeh Thomas be an X factor on this years defense like Darren Woodson was here in Dallas. He is being played at Safety as well as slot corner and he also plays special teams because he simply likes the contact. This is the way The Great Darren Woodson played the game ,could Juanyeh Thomas be the next great player to play multiple positions in the Cowboys secondary, Let's discuss.

doubt it. the UDFA who has had trouble getting on the field and sticking around, can't be compared to woodson who was one of the key clogs of the superbowl teams. certainly deserving of HOF, but not yet indicted....cone on people....we are putting our hopes and dreams in everything and anything.

Him not getting on the field is more about coaching incompetence then him.

 TOO SOON Please don't make unnecessary comps this early the answer is no..

By the way I wonder how many games Darren Woodson missed in his career it's been a while but I'm betting not many Thomas and Bell need to stay on the field them complaining and they're not getting enough playing time people forget they've been injured....More so Bell

So maybe just maybe the new coaching staff will help a lot of careers here I mean sometimes the old staff have their favorites now the new staff gets to choose who they want to start and what not but it's going to take a lot to remove Donovan Wilson and Hooker from starting reps...

I've always liked Thomas and Bell but they have not arrived enough for you to start a post and compare them to possible Darren Woodson just because of position flex....TOO SOON..

I have no idea why he didn't get more playing time last year. It made NO sense to me having him stand on the sideline watching. So I'm just repeating what I said a year ago, get him on the field!!! Dang McCarthy mismanaging players.
Didn't he have a concussion in one game and his knee injury on Thanksgiving day last season?

If hes to meet all the high potential that I'm reading about in this thread, one can only wonder why his agent let him sign his new contract at less than 1.1 million a year?

Pretty cheap for the next "Woodson"

Just a very minor adjustment, my brother

How about we just hope this guy could be good enough to take Donovan Wilson's place which I think is a large task alone by putting unnecessary labels on a guy and calling him possibly the next Darren Woodson come on man and what world do you live in I mean I'm allowed to let people have positive posts and I'm glad you feel good about this guy I like Thomas and Bell but they've got a lot of work to do to become anything close to our best safeties let's hope they can just overcome the ones that are in front of them isn't that a big task alone because they have shown no signs of being better than the two that are starting I mean they have potential but they're going to have to prove it.

With this new staff maybe to get a few more breaks the bells got to stay more healthy that's his problem he's probably better than Thomas, but before I go right now donovan Wilson and hooker are not losing their jobs up front unless all of a sudden training camp and pre season they're just absolutely bawling out I'd say all four are going to be on the team they will have their roles...

We already have a player like Kearse was probably our best all around safety that could do multiple things on this team in recent history... Doesn't look like he played last year I've been curious where he's at.. Wonder if he's gonna retire or whatnot but I really liked him...

Exactly, I remember last season thinking Juanyeh should have been starting over Malik Hooker's lack of deep speed. The safety play needs to get younger and faster in a hurry.Thomas should start this season, this kid was ready last season to make an impact at free safety.Wilson is a box safety who is a good tackler but he is a liability in pass coverage.Juanyeh needs to be on the field where he can make plays.I believe he is ready.

But that's your opinion he is on a brand-new coaching staff that will have to make this decision with their own eyes and their own experience in this new defense how do you know who's better and who should start.....

That’s the Cowboy way.

If you have a contract they’ll play a worse player with the bigger contract.

I hate it..

Watching Zeke be completely finished and Pollard standing on the sidelines was awful.

we can't make everything about coaching incompetence because we have an affinity for a player. otherwise people will argue that 39 players need to be on the field because they think he is special. he was an UDFA. he has a fat chance to begin with. now people think he is special!!! I am not dismissing coaching, but it can't be the only reason. he has had multiple coaches and results been the same....

so come on now...not every player on this team is special. he is limited in several capacities

That's a lot to ask. I just want to see him be good enough at one position, whether it's free safety or slot.

I have no affinity for him. I’m just going against the claim “oh if he was good he would play” narrative you came with. That’s crap. We’ve seen guys just last year sit on the bench who were superior to the guys in front of them. Dowdle was a healthy scratch so they could play Zeke. They literally sat their best running back in favor of an inferior one. So yes I will be incompetence first.

This guy has youth on his side it will be up to the coaching staff to put him in position to succeed, he is being played at multiple positions in the secondary. So he may become a player for this team if given a chance to play.He has good size and athleticism along with confidence in his ability to play different positions. The kid has some tools to work with, and he could become a difference maker here if he is put in the right situation.I think he has more speed than Hooker or Wilson.

Woodson was an early second round pick that started his rookie year. He played a big part in the team winning the Super Bowl his first two years in the league.

Thomas is an undrafted free agent that’s sat on the bench the majority of his three years in the league.

There’s simply no comparison.

I think its unfair to put that kind of expectations on a guy whose barely played. Let's just hope he is good enough to get on the field. Put away the Darren Woodson talk.
