Juanyeh Thomas the new Darren Woodson

The guy has done NOTHING to EVER BE COMPARED TO WOODY.

This guy has youth on his side it will be up to the coaching staff to put him in position to succeed, he is being played at multiple positions in the secondary.So he may become a player for this team if given a chance to play.He has good size and athleticism along with confidence in his ability to play different positions.The kid has some tools to work with,and he could become a difference maker here if he is put in the right situation.I think he has more speed than Hooker or Wilson.

Yes he has youth on his side, but both our safeties now are veterans both have ran a 4.5 40 when they were younger, I don't know what they run now, but it's the same all three at one point were the same speed.

So, father time is not obviously on the side of our aging players, but you don't realize how good of athletes these guys were at one time; malik hooker played basketball at a high level, hes quite the athlete, went to a big college, I know blah blah blah but we're talking about potential versus proven players so the coaches have to make a choice... As far as Donovan Wilson goes he far exceeded his expectations coming out as a lower round pick..

I understand you like Thomas, i like he and Bell but they are going to have to earn their way onto this roster for sure...

Woodson was an early second round pick that started his rookie year. He played a big part in the team winning the Super Bowl his first two years in the league.

Thomas is an undrafted free agent that’s sat on the bench the majority of his three years in the league.

There’s simply no comparison.

Maybe Juanyeh Thomas can help Dallas win a Super or twn another note why is Darren Woodson not in the hall of fame.

I am not saying Malik Hooker and Donavan Wilson are not good players because I know they are.But I think Thomas could be a future play maker that could play multiple positions in the secondary and on special teams.He could be an X factor , a poor man's Darren Woodson is very possible with the right coaching.Darren Woodson is one of my players to wear the star.

I have no affinity for him. I’m just going against the claim “oh if he was good he would play” narrative you came with. That’s crap. We’ve seen guys just last year sit on the bench who were superior to the guys in front of them. Dowdle was a healthy scratch so they could play Zeke. They literally sat their best running back in favor of an inferior one. So yes I will be incompetence first.

but just because of one, we can't say it was a mass problem. I didn't think Thomas was better than anyone in front of him. the Saftey group is weak anyways. some think other safties are good, just not great.

he is battling for a spot on the team, but given safety group is weak he has a chance. is he special. I doubt it. given how weak safety group is, he can easily get playing time and get fans excited. otherwise he has been nothing but a JAG

this just speaks to the state of the safety group...that people think Thomas might be special and a difference maker. agains those veterans he may be more athletic. but hasn't done squat to deserve much attention.

he kind of redefined the safety position. he was a big safety, at the time and played like a corner and could play close to LOS. he wasn't a palumalu or reed, but he certainly was really really good. we had a bunch of stars on cowboys and he often got lost in the shuffle. he certainly deserves to get into HOF at some point, sooner than later.

We will soon see what Juanyeh has to offer I like his chances here in Dallas ,this season and in the future.

I believe this kid has the ability to be a good player here in the secondary at safety or slot corner.

I understand, but Woodson is worthy of the Hall of Fame. I think hoping he might be the next James Washington could be more accurate. Washington was never great, but he was good enough and deserved to be Super Bowl MVP. He played both strong safety and free safety for us after being a Plan B free agency acquisition.

Woody is a different animal and there hasn't been one like him, if I'm recalling correctly.

Let's just start at getting Juanyeh on the field starting somewhere he's not able to be compared to anyone at the moment. We have to see him at slot, but I have my doubts. Juanyeh at SS could be a solid move for coverage and disguise. Can Juanyeh win a starting job, is question with him?

I have no idea why he didn't get more playing time last year. It made NO sense to me having him stand on the sideline watching. So I'm just repeating what I said a year ago, get him on the field!!! Dang McCarthy mismanaging players.

I am interested in seeing if he's a good fit for the slot. Eberflus expects a lot out of his nickel corner. Not only does the player have to be good in coverage, but he's also a key in run support and even blitzing the QB (the rare times Eberflus blitzes).

I think one of the reasons that Eberflus is taking a hard look at Bland there is because Bland is clearly our best corner. However, I don't like the idea of taking Bland off outside coverage. We'll be much better off if someone like Thomas shows he can play the slot.

I was hoping that Thomas and Bell would get a real chance to compete for the starting safety spots this year because I'm not completely happy with Hooker and Wilson. I'm not down on our starters like some, but I just wonder if Bell and Thomas couldn't do better. However, if we find a role for Thomas in the nickel and Bell as a nickel/dime linebacker, I'm OK with that.
