Saw them 3 times in the 80's ..one of the best live bands ever.

1983 .... one of the most significant years in rock and roll/heavy metal history

Quiet Riot burst onto the scene, kicked the door in and in came (to the major spotlight) the likes of .....Judas Priest.... et al....

The music world would quickly realize..

"You got another thing comin"

With all due respect Quiet Riot had been around since 75, Priest since 74 and I know I will probably get bashed for this but I like Point of Entry almost as much as Screaming. And back to Quiet Riot I used to have a Japanese import of Quiet Riot 2 and asides from Randys playing the album just wasn't very good.

Best hard rock band i remember seeing was Triumph at South Padre Island spring break in the 80s. Estimated crowd of 100,000. Richard Marx and The Outfield also there. Jay Leno was the MC. Not really my type of music but alcohol

Did Vanilla Ice tell you the stories about his growing up in the tough areas of North Dallas.

No due respect needed. We are talking about two different things. :)

1981 - MTV rolled up in - put a face, a visual, where people weren't aware of all these bands
1983 - Quiet Riot (and original "horrible band" quiet Riot = two different worlds) ... cum on feel thr noize and metal health led the way. I saw it happen, I know it happened.... and if that ain't good enough.... these bands have already said that's how it went down.

Good read.

Have you seen the documentary that came out in 2014 about QR? Quiet Riot: Well Now You're Here, There's No Way Back http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2560840/ It was pretty good. BTW , went to a record signing for QR at the local Sound Warehouse. Banali and Kevin were huge dbags but Rudy and Carlos were really cool.

Yeah Kevin was always dbag.

The same "significance" I spoke of... he wouldn't shut the ***** up about it. He said all the other bands sucked(1983).

Dee Snyder commented a few years ago saying in reply, "no, no, no... what are you doing?? This is good for all of us.....no, be quiet" (pun intended)

Kevin wasn't a good singer. He was slighted many times in his life.
But when he caught lightning in a bottle with the Slade song and then BANG YOUR HEAD.

He thought he arrived and was the ship!

He wasn't.
But his mark was!

The documentary was pretty good. I am/was a HUUUUGGGE QR fan!
I defended them to no end!

Rudy super cool, grounded. Played with great bands and singers.
Carlos - every time I see him on tv or in interview he's being a dbag. Lol
Frankie - I didn't know that.

What a great, great line, "well now you're here... there's no way back"

"The bad boys they are such a riot..... Rock on, rock on.... rock ya"
