Can he be had for a 6 or 7th pick?

Per rotoworld,

The Boston Globe's Greg A. Bedard believes Patriots WR Julian Edelman is "squarely" on the roster bubble.
Edelman is one of the league's more versatile players, but has just 11 catches the past two seasons. With the Pats positively overflowing with proven pass catchers, he could be one of the odd men out. Edelman's $615,000 salary is working in his favor, however.

The staff seems to have a lot of faith in our young group. If I wasn't so sure they were, I'd definitely say he'd be worth it. He has the speed and versatility to play in a lot of different spots. Before we look into outside help, we need to give the young guys a chance to live up to the hype. When week four of the preseason comes around and no one has stood out, then we should definitely find someone. I mean there's a really good chance we do find that third guy, we have those six guys that have a chance. If not one of them can stand out, I'd be shocked.

I would if we needed a receiver badly, but as it is we already have a group of very promising, unproven receivers. No need to add another unproven name to that list.. particularly one who has been arrested on indecent assult and battery charges already.

Doesn't seem like the "RKG".. lol.

I live in Boston. This guy got a lot of hype because Welker was injured and he played decently in his stead. Yet in the high powered Patriots offense, he hasn't scored a touchdown in years...

He has 11 catches in the last 2 years.

He has never had any luck in impressing their front office. I wouldn't even bring him in unless someone got injured again. He is at best a 4th receiver.

11 catches in 2 years? yeah he sucked at playing cb for the patriots but a 6th or 7th rounder would be wasted for that type of production...lol....passsssssss

If this was a guy that a team wanted to bring in why wouldnt they just wait to see if he's cut in training camp?

Edelman was arrested on Halloween for reaching up under a woman's costume and grabbing her "area". Charges were dropped due to lack of evidence but considering there were people that wanted Dez cut for "just" an arrest I wouldn't say send a draft pick for someone without the talent.
