How come nobody has mentioned him as a reason Dallas would trade down? Dallas drafts 9 and Washington 10. Commanders have ZERO prodection behind Santana Moss. Vikings, Rams, Jacksonville IMO would all love to have this guy.

IMO the ideal Situation would be to trade down with the Rams 5 spots lower and select Tyron Smith.

Outside of a team needing a QB, I was thinking along those some lines - what player would generate enough interest to warrant them to trade up to number 9?

I agree J Jones would definitely be one guy. Maybe Quinn? For a team needing a potential pass rusher? (I am assuming Peterson, Bowers, Fairley and Dareus are gone.)

Quinn and Jones would be ideal. If Fairley or Dareus are there IMo thats dallas' pick

He'll slide because he needs foot surgery.

I see drafting Julio Jones along the same lines as drafting Mark Ingram with our first pick: Why?

How about:

We trade Austin to St Louis for the 14th pick or wherever their drafting, select Jones at 9, and Cameron Jordan at 14.

I can dream :)

That'd be idiotic. Rather trade Dez, could get more and is worth less.

Would cripple dallas with the contract he just signed last yr.

Trading Dez would be idiotic he's got superstar written all over him. If you didn't have such a bias for Austin you might be able to see it.

Not as dumb as trading Miles after signing a huge contract, we'd get less, it'd cripple the cap for years and we'd lose our #1 WR.

would be great value for Dallas. I know nobody wants to hear this because WR isnt area of need...but Jones is gonna be a very difficult WR to deal with for defenses...and any guy who can steal the show at WR at combine while playing on a broken foot is a guy you really wanna think about drafting if he is available.

If I was forced to trade Dez or Austin it would be Austin without hesitation Dez has superstar written all over him.

He has excellent hands and gives the Cowboys a threat as a receiver and as a returner.

If the Cowboys traded Austin I'm not exactly sure how it would affect our cap but a team that trades for him would have to pick up his contract.

From what I've read the Cowboys paid Austin around $17 million last season to take advantage of the uncapped year. Austin is due only $1.5 million next season.

Austin's hands will always be a liability he came close to leading the league in drops last season. It won't be long until Dez overtakes him as the #1 receiver.

Julio Jones is bigger and possibly faster than Austin he and Dez would make for a lethal combo. I'd be surprised if the Cowboys drafted him after using a #1 on Dez last season and signing Austin to that big contract but if he's the best player on the board at #9 and the Cowboys don't get a trade offer that appeals to them they could take him.

If they do take him then that would open the possibility of trading Austin.

I would even throw in NE there too. If Julio and Quinn are available. Dallas phone would be ringing off the hook

If Quinn is there the runner at the table should be under a preset order to take the card with Quinn's name to the front immediately following the announcement of #8. No phone calls from Valley Ranch. No last-second hemming and hawing allowed.

But that's just one Quinn lover's opinion. Pats offer their 17 and 28 some might listen. Throw in 33 and I'd start to listen (okay, that I'd have a hard time turning down for anybody).

I like Quinn too much.
