Well, I just started wondering what the rushing yards statistics would look like now that most of the games have been played this week with the exception of MNF. ESPN and NFL.com have yet to update yet so here's a look ahead:

Tiki Barber: 533 yds.
Steven Jackson: 521 yds. ***
Frank Gore: 520 yds. ***
Warrick Dunn: 505 yds.
Willis McGahee: 505 yds. ***
Julius Jones: 494 yds.

***: These three have played six game so far which alone shows how impressive the RB's are that have only had 5 games. (T. Jones could be above Julius after tomorrow, but he would have 6 games as well).

Here's what I'm getting to: Next wee, Chicago, St. Louis, and San Francisco have their bye weeks allowing Barber, Dunn, and Jones to progress ahead in stats... but as we all know, Barber is going up against the Dallas Defense that is highly ranked at stopping the run (5th after week 5 and should increase after this week...).

If the defense plays big next Monday, they could in essence be helping Julius to advance and have a shot at being the "statistically" NFL's leading rusher. Of course, this is also dependent on Julius having a big game (which he has had before on Monday night... Seattle-2004).

Just my thoughts... I'm out

We're No. 1 against the run right now, and we will stay there unless Chicago allows fewer than 21 yards rushing Monday night. We're No. 2 in yards allowed per rush (2.9) behind Baltimore (2.7).

Next week, Jackson & Gore sit, McGahee, the week after. It's a 3 way race right now between Julius, Tiki & Warrick.
