Did enyone see this quote from a Raider safety:

"I know they think Julius Jones is the next Emmitt Smith," Raiders safety Stuart Schweigert told the Associated Press. "I played against the guy in college, and he's a good running back, but he's not a great running back. We knew we were going to shut down the running. That allowed us to get some sacks and pressure on Bledsoe."

Now I never personally knew Emmitt Smith...Emmitt Smith was not a personal friend of mine...but I watched Emmitt play on television for years...and Julius Jones is no Emmitt Smith when it comes to power running on the inside...

though Emmitt had an offensive line where our current line is just offensive.

No one is Emmitt Smith. I don't think anyone here is expecting Julius to be Emmitt. This Raider is just talking trash and that is fine. They did win.

Julius runs well inside. I am surprised at how well he does run inside. The Raiders are tough to run on this season. They are especially tough to run on inside. The Cowboys should have tried some more outside runs. Philly had succcess on the outside. The O-line also had their poorest outing. Happens. I would like to see a pitch out or toss sweep here and there.

I never felt Jones was the next Smith, these are 2 different backs with some different skills. Dorsett and Smith were nothing like each other either but both were great backs for Dallas and I still feel Jones will also go down as one of the top backs in club history.

well, Stuart Schweigert ain't no Jack Tatum. Who the hell cares what he thinks? I watched the Raiders a couple of times before this last game and Stuart was getting torched left and right. I'm glad he's an authority on our rb's. Maybe when his career is over after this season he can join Jeff Ireland's staff and scout for us.
I know Julius isn't Emmitt, but the Raiders have won once and this guy is popping off?

As I recall, JJ ran pretty good against Purdue in college- and that was when the Irish had nothing else to take the pressure off of him. Did not get great stats, but he hurt them. Pretty stupid statement from a guy who has TOAST written all over him.
