Jones is more apt to burst through holes with his granite physique and dish out punishment, though he also possesses the speed to hit home runs.

I thought this was funny. I thought MBIII was the one more likely to dish out the punishment...

Lol. It's "prima-donna". That's funny. And personally, I don't think JuJO could last 4 Minutes let alone 60. So maybe he's just like a Pre-Lourdes at the moment, 4 Seconds and trip. :D

I think Jones will surprise a lot of fans in Dallas who were blinded by the hype of the Marion Barber fan club.

Whether or not he is a success in Seattle is a different question. He really didn't go to a team with the best offensive line in the world, and he'll struggle a lot there.

But, for those glad to see him gone so that we can have Marion Barber carry the load, rememer this: Barber had one good quarter in the playoff game, and then averaged 2.5 yards per carry after that for three quarters, and we had a run game that was non-existent when we needed it the most in the third and fourth quarter.

Barber has always been great when he came in for just a couple of quarters, after the defense was already worn down. If we lose that punch in the run game because he is starting now, and we end up without a run game in the last quarter of games, we are going to miss Julius a lot.

Julius never fumbled, and carried the load when the defense was fresh. Barber has a tendency to dissappear for games at a time in production.

This could be a lose/lose for Dallas and Seattle if they are unable to block for him, and we find out we miss him in the first half more than people thought.
Julius could surprise some people. He could also flop. The job is his if he chooses to grab it. I think he concentrated too much on upper body and got top heavy and never ran with the same feel for the lanes as he had as a rookie. Not sure he will come out of that funk.

I'd take Barber over him any day of the week and twice on game days though. When he is hitting the holes hard the whole Offense gets fired up. The O-line loves him. That's all the support I need to be amped about him as the starting guy this year.

Jones was never going to be an every down back but his carries will depend on how he performs. I wish him luck and hope things workout for him.

Only if he can get enough carries to make that one long run to bring his average up to...average.

The only way they can afford to be that patient is if the other backs aren't any better than he is.

Easy now no reason to lay hate down on the guy. He kept his mouth shut and played the team role to a T when he was with the Cowboys. That is more then a lot of guys would do these days. I hope he finds success with the Hawks just not when he is playing the Cowboys though.

He will split carries in Seattle as well only now instead of just splitting them with Barber hes' going to split them with Morris and Duckett as well. He'll get the same amount of carries, or possibly even less, most games in Seattle as he did in Dallas.

He's just not unhappy with this situation, yet, cause he actually thinks he's going to get the shot to be the 25+ carry per game back in Seattle that he wasn't going to be in Dallas. By the end of the 3rd game, when he realizes he won't get that in Seattle either, he's going to be angry and sulking again.

Not to mention that with the loss of Hutch a couple of years ago, and what not, Seattle appears to have become much more of a throw first, run second, team anyway. Jones will be just as miserable there as he was here the only difference is that there he's not likely going to contend for a Superbowl.

I agree. In the end I think it was the right move for Dallas and hopefully a fresh start in Seattle will help Jones.

You could be right then again if he can show the promise that he did early on in Dallas he could get more playing time. I think one reason the Seahawks got him was in large part because he had some of his best games against them and they saw what he is capable of.

did they really say Jones was more apt to burst through the line and dish out punishment????

they must have watched game tapes and thought Julius was number 24.

He ran one play, a delay-draw type play against them to go for over 200 yards.
Once teams played him for that delay he was never more than an average back.

I agree that was the main play he ran and excelled at. In Seattle they run a bit of a different system with the WC where most of their running game will come off the draw
