I have beeen reading alot of posts saying jj has not looked as explosive or dangerous this year. I didnt see the game today, but he did seem a bit slow in terms of hitting the hole last last week. In the SD game i did see a lot of runs were he showed the same burst from last year. Do you think JJ is running different this year or is it just the d gearing to stop him? Also Parcells was on him about not making negative plays so maybe that stop some of his creative and moves.

He is too concerned about ball security and not making negative plays.
Either that or he has slowed a little with the added weight.

He's gaining yds, getting first downs and getting touchdowns.

Looks fine to me

hey had some real good burst today. But like I said. I think it has to do with the o-line. new right side, and a center that is just not strong enough. Plus we give up running to the left all to often. We need to run more draws and counters and quick hitters off the left tackle

I think Jones has looked like the same as last year.

The only difference I see is that Testaverde was faster then Bledsoe at handing the ball off to Jones in the backfield. It irks me eveytime when they do a deep handoff and by the time Jones gets the ball there is penetration in the backfield.

Jones is just fine.
He is little slower ONLY because he has yet to strike a hole at full burst.
He's been ducking and dodging his way left to right through to Tackles to pick up gains. It's a good thing. BP was right when he said JJ has learned to make an extra something outta nothing.

1. Teams are preparing much more for him because until today, we haven't really shown the ability to beat teams deep often. (still need more)

2. He hasn't had many runs to the outside which is where he really gains speed. They'll come.

Especially on that stretch sweep play that Dallas is running. It is a very slow developing play. I think they should work on a toss sweep to throw into the offense.

I was glad they ran the draw play a few times this week. Worked, too.
