The difference between Julius' Rookie year compare to the others:

JJ was fed the ball his rookie year.

The others he was taken out on 3rd down and lost his rhythm. He was constantly switching out with MB. Remember that Seattle game we pulled out of our *** his rookie year? We wouldn't have won if it wasn't for that magic he had on 3rd down.

I believe JJ gets better the more you feed him the ball. Despite was BP said, he needs to have at least 20-25 carries to be effective, not 15-20. And he should NOT be taken out on 3rd down. Give MB his own series every now and then, he's more effective that way anyway.

Stephen Jackson is not really anything special.

He is a good RB and has been much better than JJ in the past 2 seasons. But he is not some superstar.
He is the entire focus of the Rams offense including the passing game with little dumpoffs on every other play. If we did the same with JJ, he'd have Jackson numbers and possibly better.

Julius said he and thomas both realize that today you have to have two running backs and Julius said he was fine with it that way and that was the way it head to be and it should/will continue as far as he knows.

Not really. Thomas looks bigger, but not by much.

As for Thomas, he was considered a bust up until 2 years ago. I'm glad he's successful now, but he was looked at as an underachiever for years. And it took him 3 teams and 6-7 years to get to where he is.

I hope it doesn't take Julius 3 teams nor as long.

While I think he is better than his brother, I don't think he is all that great either. He definitely isn't a dominate back anyhow. Even if he was a free agent, I would still look elsewhere. I'm am an engineer by trade, and the one thing I've learned is patching doesn't fix anything. It only prolongs the misery involved in the failure.

Jackson averages 4.4 ypc over his career
Jones averages 4.0 ypc over his career

And this is with Jones being removed from 3rd down the last two years, and not getting the 10 yrd draw plays on 3rd and 15 or more. I really dont see why all the hate for Jones in regards to Jackson. I am glad we did what did and got who we got.

Is this meant as a joke? I am pretty sure it is, but sometimes it is hard to tell when reading without the benefit of hearing someone's tone.

more proof of Emmitts greatness.....

earlier in this thread someone alluded to Thomas being an underachiever....I beg to differ a little bit. He did play for the Cardinals.....and their OL blows. He couldnt run anywhere behind that line. His stats were horrible. Then he went to the Bears and he looked like a very good RB.

Edge...one of the top 5 RBs in the NFL goes to the Cardinals...a team loaded with tons of offensive weapons and he stinks up the joint. He couldnt run for crap. He had a horrible year.

Now back to Emmitt........even in his old age and having to split carries with 2 other backs, and the ball with Fitz and Boldin....and behind that horrid Cardinals line....Old man Emmitt still had 9 TDs and almost 1000 yds rushing in his final NFL season.
