I would strongly consider cutting Trevon Diggs, Deuce Vaughn, and perhaps Donovan Wilson. The Diggs cut would be better this yr than next.

I know many would not like the Diggs cut but it’s better for the long haul. I think he will never be the same. Cut your losses. The Cowboys won’t do it though.

I almost always have a pragmatic opinion about cutting players. Diggs, 12.5M cap hit, 17.8M dead cap. I keep that player until next year when it's 18M/5M. However, if Jerry wants to save real money, not cap money, cutting Diggs saves his wallet 9M.

I'd be shocked if they cut Diggs this season. There is really no benefit to it. His base salary this year is guaranteed so you pay it either way so you might as well see what you have. Next years salary is not so you save that money by cutting hm whether you cut him today or next year. The only thing you gain by cutting him this season is his active game bonus which only totals $600K and that is if he plays the whole season. Now if you could trade him, that's a different story. If you trade him you save that $9M salary this season and with no guaranteed money left a team could get him for 1 year at under $10M or 2 years at around $12.5M per and cut him at any time with no cap hit. That's not a lot if he bounces back at all. So, I think that is a discussion for next year when you actually can save real dollars by cutting him. I'm guessing he plan is get him on the field this season and then trade him next year and use the savings to pay for Bland. Shed the salary and get a pick back. But he has to play well for that to happen and I have a feeling he might play well the second half of the season if he can get himself healthy enough.

I'm with you on Wilson. I was so hoping to see us sign a FA safety and cut him and pay for the new player with the savings. I also think we have some young guys who can play but I'd have looked to bring in at least one good FA there this year and possibly get two new starters by this time next season

There is no reason to cut those players now.

There is as part salary cap management. Some teams have already used their two post-June 1 cuts to take advantage of spreading money over two years as opposed to one, opening up some cap space. Tomorrow there should be some interesting signings across the league.

The reason to cut players now would be to sign other guys now. The best available will be gone in the next 72 hours.

No Ramsey. Reader, ect moves after June 1st. The Cowboys might bring in Gilmore after training camp. The Cowboys are hoping that the defense can hold its own until November when the get can get Overshown and Diggs back.

Deuce is as good as gone but Diggs provids depth at corner. We didn’t have Bland for 10 games due to injury, so Diggs provides insurance.

A camp injury could save Deuce a spot.

Think they keep an extra like Flournoy / Brooke over Deuce
