Now this thread has nothing to do with hyping up the Rams.......

Its more sad that these guys ran over us and a year later one is out of the league and the other is hobbled and just got cut by the Rams.

And how did they fix this last offseason? They didn't. Damn near brought the same exact front 7 back with the addition of Quinn who doesn't help with the run at all.

Just want to say thank goodness we finally are attempting to address this. Now go get us a edge rusher and a linebacker in the draft and I'll be satisfied with that unit.

That was the most maddening part of that offseason. Especially with that LVE and Jaylon said. They said they burned that tape, didn't watch it and would just keep doing the same things. What?!! You got destroyed by the same few plays the whole game and you don't want to go back and watch what went wrong? That game exposed the middle of this defense. LVE and Jaylon were never the same after that game. They both are soft. And of course the next season, we have the same defensive coordinator and run the same exact scheme.

Marinelli should have been fired before then but that game should have been the nail in his coffin. Linehan got fired after that season. Why wasn't Rod? Mind boggling.

Bingo, at least you tried something different than still trying to fit that square peg in a round hole. Yes you had a top 10 D ( number 10) the last 2 years but where did that get you when it was time for the rubber to meet the road? Heck James Harden has led the NBA in scoring several times in the last 6 years, so we are talking number 1 scorer not number 10 scorer and how many ships has he led the rockets too? And how is his performance in the PO been? Just like ours.

No, but it is a start and at least we don't have the same players for a third straight year. So at least the new staff wanted to see something different and see if that will work.

So over a year later and that rotten coaching staff is gone. That game is the least of my concerns and any reasons as to why it was that way. They added to beefy players that can actually play DT, and will have a better scheme.
Addition by subtraction on the coaching staff by a huge margin.

Just goes to show you how blind most of the league is.
The Cowboys lack of interior defense was obvious to most fans watching this team.. was holding my breath and crossing my fingers that no other offensive coordinator could finally put two and two together and totally exploit the Achilles heel of this team.
It was just a matter of time, and good coaching staffs exploit the weaknesses of their opponents.

we were top 10 in defense and better then that against the run.. get past it , if any fan wants to go find the worst 2 games a team has and use that for a narrative we didnt try to fix that are ALL as the OP said, its a bunch of B S !!!!!

not saying it hasn't been a weakness but TOs has been the real issue, thats why BJ is gone 16mil bottom of the league in picks and fumble recoveries..no team plays perfectly for 16 always an outlier ..you want to make an argument and go find those bad games and act as if it were the norm when the ranking reflect differently..

And it could be they were in a bad situation, much like our defense was the past 12 years. Not using that to pump them up. But I trust MM to have seen something he likes. It wasn't because they were desperate to sign DT's. All we can do is wait and see. By bet is they will be better here than there.

It is telling that no one out bid you on either DT, getting them both for a combined 10m. Though you’re right, if they somehow improve Dallas’s defense then none of that matters. Upgrades are upgrades

Ok we were top 10 good, agree with what you are saying just saying though cannot get caught up into a number. Can be misleading and alot can go into those numbers.

To me you can't be a top 10 defense when you only have 9 interception on the season....only 6 teams had less interception then you did. A top 10 defense generates turnovers.

I dont make the rankings they were overall ranked 10th and 5th in run defense..dont kill the messenger its a FACT.. we lost many close games when our d played very well and Dak and CO couldn't have completed a pass if they were the only two player son the field.

They were ranked 10 in points. That’s not a reflection of how good a defense is. This is the thing about the NFL. Your offense is going to struggle. You know what helps it? Special teams and defense with field position. Except ours.

You are using rankings in points to determine how good they were. When fact is a lot of their stats got inflated based on them destroying bad competition. And then when a decent team popped up you guys are lost wondering “well we were ranked so high....”.

I’m over it I can’t talk to you guys who either didn’t watch the games or only base your opinions off of empty stats.
