I don't watch a lot of college football. My team is IU so you probably understand why I don't get into it.

Ok, perception from my chair says the NFL doesn't have enough QB talent. I think there's 100+ Div 1 programs out there. Just as a number to throw out there, let's say 25% are draftable every year.

I would think more QB's would hit than seem to as it is.

Is there something I am missing? Is NFL QB that much harder than the other positions? I'm, I just crazy in this thought?

A lot of colleges don't run pro-style offenses that the NFL likes. They run the pistol, the spread, the option, etc. so most of these QBs aren't really NFL material, they're just playing to win in college for their team.

This. Also, playing a pro-style offense in college would have maybe 1/10th of the plays as an NFL offense. And every player on the field in the NFL would be the best you'd see in college. At every position. Being a QB is based so much on timing. When you throw a ball for 4 years expecting your player to be in a certain window at a certain time so many feet away from the defensive player, you get used to it.

It's like throwing a football through a doorway for 4 years then trying to make it through a basketball hoop.
