How did we get the name America's Team. Did the media give us this name or what?

THis all came up when I was arguing with a bears fan on another board. We have officially made a bet by the way. Here's the rules:
-If the Bears win the Super Bowl I have to have a Bears avatar
-If the Cowboys Win the SuperBowl he has to have a Cowboy avatar
-If neither wins then the bet is off
-The avatar must remain up untill the first game of next years pre-season
So, in the rare rare instance that the Cowboys win the SuperBowl, anybody got a great pic I could use that he could use as an avatar. Preferrably one that shows the Cowboys dominance over the Bears.

America's Team;1069523 said:America’s Team is an established term used to describe the Dallas Cowboys franchise that plays in the NFC East of the National Football League.
Bob Ryan, the Vice President and editor-in-chief of NFL Films, coined this for the Cowboys in 1979. After preparing and editing the team’s 1978 season highlight film he had to come up with a title for the film. He was quoted as saying:
"After the '78 season, the Cowboys had just lost a crushing Super Bowl to the Steelers. I wanted to come up with a different twist on their team highlight film. I noticed then, and had noticed earlier, that wherever the Cowboys played, you saw people in the stands with Cowboys jerseys and hats and pennants. Plus, they were always the national game on television."
