If Jenkins and Mickens steps up in the next few years would it be a ridiculous thought to move T New to FS. Ken Hamlin really concerns me Big time just a thought. Again fellas just a thought. If K Hamlin steps up great but if he struggles we have to do something.

But Jenkins "Ole' !" when Derrick Ward of the Giants ran past him some weeks later. An astonishing ***** move.

A outrageous, "you are cut on Monday" give-up. Unless Jenkins had a big-time back injury or something that he could hardly walk or put some kind of hit on a RB (Ward) running wild for a 40-yard TD. Video tells the tale: Jenkins just was scared of the hit on Ward. Even if he had been injured, any def. player at least hits the guy .. that is, unless you have vigorish on some kind of new Black Sox scandal.

I worry about Jenkins. I don't worry about Scandrick.

I do think that Jerry won't cut draft picks with money/signing bonus left on the table... He wouldn't hear of cutting Jenkins for his absolutely indefensible play vs. the Giants ... though he should have ..

Point taken but for argument sake what does Jenkins have to do in your mind or in any cowboys fan mind to get our respect back after the play he made in New York!

He just has to not do that again, in my opinion. That's the only time all season that I can remember him shying away from contact, so as long as he doesn't make a habit of it, then all is forgiven. Jenkins had some questionable plays last year but I really just think it was due to him not being ready for the jump to the NFL. Three plays stick out for me:

1. The non-attempt at the tackle
2. The time he tried to kick the ball out of the air
3. The time he broke away from the ball, against the Rams

At times I just don't think he was able to process what was going on and he just reacted in an unnatural way. He was a rookie, so I'm willing to cut him some slack and I still think that he has a ton of potential.

I dont worry about hamlin, he will step up and be a leader this year.

*Shrugs* Who knows. It seems there are a handful of corners that make that move toward the end of their career and are able to get another couple of years out of their career.

My thing with Newman, however, is that he's really not got great ball skills. He can really cover, no denying it, but his ball skills are average at best and so I'm not sure how good a FS he'd be. I'd like to have a FS with ball skills and I just don't think Newman has a great deal of those.
