Been here on The Zone < a year and never started a thread but This game was like taking a bowel prep for a colonoscopy. I just have to unload on this State of the Team Message as viewed by the Point of the Star. Just on Point here:

This team sucks and is not fun to watch. I'm gonna still watch them but they suck and it starts at QB. Even in the 40-7 blowout last week Prescott was very unimpressive to watch. He's a second string QB at best. And Garrett is nothing, he's in way over his head. He may be Jeff Fisher II. The team won't play for him and he can't coach!

I don't think the problem is player selection other than QB. This team has above avg NFL talent. So far I think McClay and S. Jones can handle personnel. I think with Dak they are trying to get by on the cheap so as to upgrade at other positions but that ain't working. Yeah, Dak might get by with better QB coaching but he'll never be a top 10 NFL QB. I'm over Prescott ... with great play and production by the QB, Dallas wins this game by at least 7 and probably 14.!

This is the fumble and 4Skin TD play (sorry if already posted here). Gallup open by 5 yards, no safety over the top, and Dak can't process or can't see the open receiver. This is a 14 point turn around and loses the game most likely!

I had to vent.

Disclaimer: I'm no stats guru, no football expert, just a fan giving this team the eye test !

Adam Schein from Sirius Radio stated about 10 minutes ago that Dak displayed toughness at the end but doesn't have a clue and blamed Dak (who he feels is average at best as a QB) for the fumble that resulted in a touchdown for the Commanders.

He also mentioned that Jason Garrett has horrible game management and Romo pointed it out as well.

Dak was one of the reason's for the lost on yesterday but also Jason.

Blaming the penalty is an excuse.

If it wasn't for Dak's fumble (plus he missed open WRs) and Jason's horrible time management the team would have won.

I have no sense of caring right now.
We are stuck with Garrett, an will be fora long time.

I am getting to the point of just watching the games, hope for a win but not expecting it.

Matter of fact I come to expect to be let down.
I have other things to do, so have been slowly spending my time on other stuff. Losing interest.
I used to crave any and all news Cowboys. Now I check in here to get news and updates.
But now it has just become a way to vent along with every other frustrated fan.

Oh, well, I have other things to do, stuff I put off. So now will focus on them. As this team is going nowhere but down. Check in here once in a while.

Good we need so much more of this.
I got an alert earlier, need to look where from. Said Tony out coached Jason on the broadcast.
This needs to go viral.

Gallup is open, no question, but he doesn't have his head turned to see the pass and he's not going to find it if Dak lets it go right there. That still also doesn't show the LB coming at full speed from the right, in front and from his side on the right. Gallup should have turned his head as soon as he has that step and then there's a chance. Dak on the other hand could have done pretty much any thing else than what he did, at the very least throw it away, he's out of the tackle box, dump it to Zeke, maybe he breaks a tackle or two. IIRC, that was 3rd and and a mile, he was trying to make something happen and made a bad choice, thinking he could extend the play. It's not an excuse, he has to make a better decision in that spot.

The penalty was a killer. But Maher still pulled it. Most QB miss open receivers. When they make the reads it impossible to see everything especially when you have 300 pounders chasing you. But Dak clearly had a open guy standing right there. He should have seen that one.

I feel you.

Even Jim Nantz at the end of the game pointed out our team's deficiencies under Jason.

Even if Gallup doesn't see it, chuck it up. Worst case, incomplete. Best case, he finds it and its 6 points. Better than the result.

since when does the WR have to be staring down his QB to have a ball throw to him? hes about to be completely uncovered.. i promise you, Gallups been playing WR for a long time. hes gonna look back and up and find the ball if its throw his direction.

I'm starting to wonder if Dak even knows the plays that he is calling in the huddle. Gallup is streaking up the field on that play...

On a timing route, he doesn't. On a deep route he does to locate the ball and adjust. Like I said in my post, Dak could have done pretty much anything other than what he did, but Gallup wasn't showing he was prepared for the pass.

Dak turned away from Gallup pretty much exactly when he broke open, so he didn't see that he had his man beat. Dak did definitely see Zeke though, and for some inexplicable reason he decided to hold the ball on the goal line instead of dumping it off. Zeke probably doesn't get a 1st down, but whatever he got would've been better than taking a sack and fumbling the ball. Dak had almost 5 seconds to make a decision, and he made the worst possible decision. Dak makes A LOT of bad decisions.

Barely a week ago many of the homers were booking trips to Atlanta in February.

Look, I'm a fan and have been so since 1966. This team is a rudderless ship ... probably a sinking ship. Now this Amari Cooper idiocy!

Is it just me, or is Gallup raising his left arm as to call for the ball?
