This is more written for the Diogenes crowd out there. You know who they are. They're the bunch that chronically predicts us to finish 9-7 each season or expects us to lose each contest, only to arrive late Sunday night in outrage over events they told us would happen. You know the type. This is written for them.
I have no problem with the chronically optimistic. If we lose, you'll find some moral victory out of the whole deal. So we won't expect you peering over the ledge when we lose.
Anyway, I don't see it happening this Sunday. We're going into Foxboro. If it were the playoffs, I'd feel differently, but Tom Brady and the Cheatriots know how to win regular season home games. 30-0 at home speaks for itself.
Rob Ryan may have found a way to disrupt Brady and the offense, but it's merely pablum that the mediots and analysts are feeding you to inspire hope. Rob Ryan isn't going to have an answer for the Cheatriots offense. Rather, they're going to have an answer for him after losing to his Browns defense last year. Bellicheat and the offense is ready on that front.
If Wes Welker isn't getting 10 catches on us, then Rob Gronkowski will. If only he'd play like his brother this Sunday. Most importantly, if we're not disrupting Brady, he's going to pick us apart.
Bellicheat is going to make sure Witten is cut off, so Romo won't have him to throw to. That's probably going to exacerbate the erratic behavior we've seen from Romo. Expect maybe two picks from him this game.
Garrett is going to shut down our running game, so the Cheatriots won't have to worry about that. Yeah, even if we're getting 5.8 yards per carry, Garrett will shut it down. Don't worry.
Brace for 2-3. For once, I'd like to see the habitual kvetchers retain their composure after an outcome they assured us would happen. If we lose, I'm not going to freak out or call Romo names, because I see things long term. We're headed to the playoffs. But we're going to be 2-3 along the way.
Don't freak out.
