...maybe I'm missing it, but since Coach Garrett took over, players have been awfully quiet on Facebook and Twitter.

I was thinking the same thing yesterday.

we have a new sheriff in town (ive been sick with flu last week just now getting over it, so back to posting if any of you missed my posts).
but jason garrett i just imagine has layed the law down to the players about posting, popping off, spending more time on twitter or facebook then on cowboys playbook and film room.

I love it though, not so much talking now, but concentrating on football!

Woohoo!
Just wait till next year in OTAs, training camp if there is NFL football next year, boy, are the players going to be surprised about training camp in pads etc the way wade used to run it (sloppy) and way jason garrett will run training camp.

Woohoo! Gives you hope that the team will be better prepared and determined and focused on football.

# 1 if Jason Garrett is head coach next year, wont be no more not practing in pads.
#2 Wont be no more late to meetings or practice (already has)
#3 Wont be no more basic vanilla plays in training camp and players out after one series.
#4 Wont be no more lack of accoutability
#5 Wont be no more if players dont pull their weight and a team leader gets on them, the head coach says no we dont do that
#6 Wont be no more dominoes, cards etc
#7 Wont be no more players like roy williams safety sneaking off after practice and not working on film study
#8. Wont be no more not hitting or tackling in training camp or during regular season some.
#9. Wont be no more most of time walking around in shorts in just walkthroughs 90% of the time, and not pads like wade didnt work the players
#10. A lot more of stuff that we probably dont know about either.

I firmly believe that if Jason Garrett had been the coach from the beginning, we would be 9-2 right now and narrowly 10-1 or 11-0.

thats just silly.i dont know where to start but i will start with game 1.would garrett not have called all those screen passes for dez?.what else would he have differently on offense?

Well Baron would not have been playing for us for sure. So probably we win that game. We only needed to win maybe two of the first seven we lost to have a shot at the playoffs. If we were 5-6 right now we would be in it still.

Jesse Holley and martellus still post as normal on twitter.

Miles still posts his irregular amt of song lyrics and Dez seems to pop up every now and then.

Not sure about others since those are the only ones who posts on twitter with any amt of regularity that I follow.

But, but, Herr Garrett forced them off............

I know its just your opinion, but with, even cowboys playing their best, I doubt with the way some breaks went for Cowboys, they would be 10-1 or 11-0. Maybe 9-2 probably would have been best case scenario. I think more likely it would have been 8-3 at best to maybe 7-4, more realistic scenario.

We never know with coulda woulda shouldas I guess. It had to happen this way for Jerry to wake up. Its not this season, there has to be change in mentality with Jerry and organization. Without this drastic of season, they wouldn't happen ( assuming, they will happen in off season and in future).

Sometimes to have good to happen, you need a lot of bad things to happen. Jerry is as much as culprit with the culture as Wade last four years, if not more. As soon as some wins come along, Jerry starts his old ways. Before someone thinks I have problem with Jerry the GM, no, I have problem with Culture that Jerry seems to promote or allow maybe within organization. His enabling of circus atmosphere etc, or as some players put it at start season ( Gerald Sensabaugh specifically). Essentially he didn't make Football most important thing, but rather marketing or publicity most important or as important, IMO. So I think this had to happen in a way for him to drastically change.

I think that the team would have been much better prepared throughout training camp and the lack of execution would not have been there all throughout the preseason.

I agree with what you're saying, especially about Jerry. I don't have a problem with Jerry the GM either, except for his most recent head coaching hire (Wade Phillips). For the most part, he's allowed Stephen and Tom C. to do their jobs very well in scouting, although the 2009 draft is looking like a downer, but given our picks and draft position it is what it is.

But yes, he is definitely overstepping his bounds as the GM by needlessly promoting the brand of the Cowboys at the detriment of the team itself...I believe that the Dallas Cowboys sell themselves anyway, and furthermore he could easily promote the team without doing things that harm the preparation and day-to-day work of the players, in my opinion.

It is amazing what hot wiring player's hairy buckeyes will do.

Our record might be better, but this defense has been atrocious. You can't get to 9 wins giving up a billion pass yards a game.

Let's not forget that even though Eli Manning sucks and he had a ton of yards passing in that win, and the only reason we held on was because of two mistakes that Eli made in the end zone. He doesn't throw those picks, Garrett is 1-2 with the only win being against a terrible Detroit team and everybody is singing a different tune.

WG with the level head as usual.
Thanks, but it's not even about having a level head...at least, it shouldn't be.

Yes, JG has made some changes, but none of those changes would mean a thing if the players hadn't decided to show up on game days.

Eli has been a turnover machine this year. So its quite reasonable to expect him to continue. The obvious change in the atmosphere and the attitude in that game was remarkable.

They're actually practicing now. They're spending time in the film room, hitting in practice, and taking the game seriously. Imagine that concept.... They're probably so tired from the regimen that things like Twitter, YT, & FB are afterthoughts (as they should be).
