Ran into an R&L truck driver up here at work. I was in the process of loading a skid when the driver looked up from his bill of lading and took a second look at my Dallas Cowboys T-shirt and asked the obvious with a grin on his face, "You a Cowboys' fan?" "Yup." I replied.
From then and their it was good ol' football talk about our favorite team.

Usually when I run into a Cowboys' fan up here they're a fairly casual fan. They know the basics and that's about it. He was definitely knowledgeable. It was a breath of fresh air.

We both agreed how vastly underrated Tony Romo is and how other fans are always questioning his leadership. He wasn't sure about the hiring of Jason Garrett, but I reassured him that we were in excellent hands. He did though love the Rob Ryan signing as DC.

Bottom-line, we probably could have sat for an hour or more and discussed everything Dallas Cowboys. Sure made for a good day here at work.

The fact you think Romo's underrated tells me you know what you're talking about. Welcome!

nice! I live in dallas, and ironically the guy I talk the most football with at work is a HUGE giants fan. Normally, I wouldn't talk to those people, but he's actually really cool and respectful. He thinks we'll be real good next season..i tend to agree.

Man I hate when I run into another cowboys "fan" and start I discussions with... " Who do you hope we draft" and the reply is "what pick were we again?". Instant bandwagon fan thought's storm through my head and I can't stand it

I hate running into Cowboys fans that are like "man we gotta get rid of Romo".

I work with a guy who's a casual fan and hates Romo. He's always talking about how we need to get rid of Romo to win. "Look what we did with Kitna! I told you if Romo was out of there we'd start winning!" he said to me one day. I just rolled my eyes and walked away. I didn't feel like explaining to him that it was the culture change instilled by Garrett that caused the turnaround. There's just no reasoning with some people.

I know what you mean. We did talk some draft which is another indication of how much a fan truly knows or keeps up with his team and he was definitely on par. O-line and secondary.

I always get the "Cowboys won't win with JJ in charge, unless he brings back Jimmy"
Or the "I used to like the Cowboys untils the treated Landry the way they did"

To me these are just misinformed people, not with just the Cowboys, but also probably just in life. Too hard headed to even have a casual conversation with. :bang2:

The weirdest thing happened to me today. I was in PA picking up a load when I noticed the guy loading my truck was a fellow Cowboys fan. He seemed like a fairly knowledgeable fan. ;) :laugh2:

:laugh2: Fairly is a fair assessment.

Cowboy fans in PA, that's gotta be tough. Good for you.

Thanks friend. How's Plano? The haze of ash still in the skies above? I used to visit Plano quite often. Grandparents used to reside their before moving to Abilene.

It is. Especially when your entire extended family are die hard Steelers fans. They hate the Cowboys just as much as I hate the Steelers.

The Cowboy fans in my family are out numbered by about 40 to 5. I did however get some of them converted to my side when they were young.

It isn't so much now, but it was the past few days, the rain lately has definitely helped out but other areas are still seeing the walls of ash and smoke. Plano is ok, not really my kinda town, the people are usually upper class and pretty wealthy but it's a nice looking town, plus growing like crazy.

That sounds horrible, I bet you loved this past superbowl then right? I would get too annoyed with those terrible towels, I know a couple steelers fans and all during the superbowl, they waved those damn towels around.

That's akin to people who think we need to bring back Jimmy Johnson.

The thing is we kind of did, but he has red hair this time and a corporate demeanor.

well it wasn't me cuz I dont deal with trucks, but it is tough living here in PA as a Cowboys fan due to a bunch of crazed Steeler fans, a handful of nutjob Eagle fans, with a small mix of Browns/Bills fans (live in Erie,Pa).

I always get asked why a Cowboy's fan here. I just tell them, hey we are everywhere.

That whole area is growing. I read an article about Dallas/Ft. Worth in general. It is one of the fastest growing cities in the U.S. I hear that they eventually want to call it Texa-plex or something of that nature. Everything from the Fort Worth to the mid-cities (Hurst, Euless, Bedford area) all the way to Arlington is growing extremely fast. To me, it sounds awesome. I miss Texas. I live in probably the most depressed areas in the United States. Cannot wait to get back.

Consider yourself lucky my friend. Oh, and believe me, I put up with a ton of **** when it comes to my Dallas Cowboys. I'm only 40 miles away from Pittsburgh. This is Steelers' country unfortunately. Blah! :banghead:

Hang in there bro! You're doing a helluva job! :starspin

Its funny...living in VA, whenever im wearing my cowboys gear and someone wants to talk football I have a couple of test questions I ask to see where their football IQ is..I ask about Tony first, and if they say anything overtly negative or ignorant, I already know.not to.waste my time
