Tough to choose just one but a good Mississippi Mud Pie is probably at the top of my list. I do love pretty much any kind of cheesecake too though.
Those MY pies, are they that because you make them or once you get your hands on one it's only the death wishers that should approach you?

At my niece's graduation party yesterday, one of my other nieces brought a banana cheesecake that she had a friend make for her. It's got a banana bread base, rather than the typical cheesecake crust, and it was absolutely amazing. I just had a piece for breakfast.

Don't know what sopapillas are either, but that's okay. Lol$2.00 for a plate of 3. They're in your price range. Think sopapillas but denser and better. Cafe Du Monde is a French Quarter staple that was built in 1862 and is open 24 hours a day every day except Christmas. They serve only coffee and beignets and it's the spot to go after drinking all night in the Quarter. The place is packed from midnight until 2:00-3:00 in the morning.
