Let me 1st state that I believe the rumor started yesterday has a very slim, to no chance of happening. I like Roy Williams as a Cowboys. He will go down in history as one of the best Cowboys every to play, and is the type of player that will be in the Ring of Honor no doubt.

But I am going to fantasize here, and, hopefully, get your opinions on the subject.

Let's say we make that "RUMOR" trade and trade Greg Ellis and Roy Williams for Ed Reed and Ray Lewis, but with a spin. The Ravens appearently initiated this trade offer, so let's try to get the #13 overall pick from them as well for our #18 overall pick. There were reports out this week that the Ravnes were looking to trade down anyway. This would give us a totally different pool of player to choose from, and through the process of elimination I have deduced that list down to:

Michael Huff
Winston Justice
Haloti Ngata
Brodrick Bunkley

The other option is we can still trade back down. The point value difference from #18 and #15 is from 900 points to 1150 points. That would get us a 2nd round pick if we trade anywhere #20 - 21 and above.

What do you guys think about that.

Obviously its never going to happen, but hypothetically, i like the way you think, as long as baltimore was willing to trade picks as well, it could be very advantageous.

I don't know about the ROH stuff. JJ seems slow to act on that.

The rumor wasnt involving Greg Ellis. It was Roy Williams straight up for Ray Lewis and Ed Reed.

If you are talking about the Ranch Report article, you are wrong. Ellis was included in it. I just double checked.

it'd sure hurt and be hard to part with Roy but honestly I feel like Davis would start on most teams and do well as a SS. I don't think he'll ever be a good FS though.

why would we want Huff if we picked up Reed in a trade?
Why would we want Justice since he wouldn't play much in year 1 with Flo coming back and Fabini (who you know will start) on the right? Sure maybe a good long-term pick but BP probably doesn't care about long-term right now
Is Bunkley capable of playing 3-4 NT? I don't think so are we are set at 3-4 DEs with Spears, Ratliff, Canty, and Coleman
Ngata? use the 13th pick for a backup NT? really? why keeping paying Fergi 20 million then? Fergi is one of BP's guys. I know everyone here wants Ngata but he's a bit overrated, has one major and one minor knee injury in his history, and we already paid Fergi big money. Ngata work here.
I like the thought of trading back down from 13 though. We could get a lot of good players and maybe an extra pick next year.

Winston Justice and rob Petiti could be our bookends for the future. Yes, Petiti still needs work, but he started a lot of games last year and can only get better. As far as Justice is concerned, why can't he compete to start in year 1? If he is better than Fabini, then let him start. If not, he can be backup at either the right or the left tackle spot. It is also much easier to go from the tackle ot guard position for a year or 2 than vice versa.

Going into this draft if there is 1 player that I would like more than any other (minus Bush, Marioa Williams, D'Brickashaw, and A.J. Hawk because we know we don;t have a chance at them) it is Winston Justice. The guy is a player, and I feel that 10 years from now he'll be one of, if not the best linemen in the NFL.
