Like I said this thread is just for fun.
Let's say Dallas ends up winning the Superbowl. They beat Mahomes and the Chiefs.
Let's also say that the front office figures out a way to bring back all the key pending free agents: Gregory, Shultz, Gallup, Kazee, Neal (at least those who I consider as key).
Who or what positions do we draft at 32, 64, 96, 4th round, 5th round, 5th round comp?
It seems like the front office could draft whoever they want considering they just won a Superbowl and brought back all the key players.
I'd say something like this
1st round DE
2nd Round S
3rd Round RB (to replace Zeke in 2023)
4th Round LB
5th Round LB
5th Round TE
How do we bring back those players I mentioned
Restructure Dak and Zak Martin. That alone could free up $25 million in cap space
Cut Jarwin and Anthony Brown. We've got McKean and Sprinkle as solid back ups for TE and give the keys to either Lewis or Joseph as CB2. Those 2 cuts frees up $9 million
The $34 million created in cap space would put us around $22 million in cap space for '22 since we are projected to be over $12 million of the cap to start the new season.
Create an additional $8 million in cap space through other restructures and we now have $30 million in cap space.
Cap hit:
Gregory $6 million
Schultz $5.5 million
Gallup $ 6 million
Kazee $3 million
Neal $3 million
Leaving $6.5 million in cap space to sign the rookie class.
