X's and O's-Norv is a GENIOUS. He's a POS HC, for sure. However-he IS an Albert Einstein when it comes to football, FWIW.

Hopefully, Parcells will come to his senses and let him have complete control over the O.

We need to improve the OL quite a bit, yes. However-Payton is POS, regardless.

Not sure.

What kind of freedom would he have?

He has a ton of weapons in Oakland and has not been able to get it done at least offensively...at least every team except us anyway.

Porter, Moss, Curry, a nice runningback.

I would be more open to Mike Martz, but his pension for throwing throwing throwing is what scares me, but Parcells would probably make sure he doesnt do too much of that.

When he was in Miami for a couple of years, the O played GREAT, and Ricky Williams had his best years under him.

Im not sure we have the Personell to run Gibbs' scheme.

He likes to old H-Back system and I am not sure Jones could handle the load. We would definately have to get a bigger and stronger backup to run that type of scheme and the offensive lineman do alot of pulling, which I dont know if Allen and Rivera can handle that.

Did anyone not watch the early 90 Cowboys other than me?

Vertical passing scheme... North/South running game... lots of play action... TE always dragging 10 yards down the field somewhere...

Norv is a genius in the booth... on the field he sux... we have the type personnel he needs here...

He will be available...

We had 7 losses this year... all but one 7 points or less... we need an attacking offense...

Still-his coaching staffs in NE and NY were FAR superior. They weren't just "his guys", they were pretty darn good(and have been rewarded with HC jobs elsewhere).

Frankly-this is one sign the game has passed the coach by-his coaching staff is pretty rotten. Ditka's staff in the Big Easy was out of HS, as was Bum Phillip's and Hank Schram's.

Also, look at his personell with the Raiders.

They were gawd awful this year on offense and he has some big weapons..

No really, I'm not bitter. You and I both know that BP is a control freak, would only hire guys that will say yes sir no sir and just ****. He doesn't allow his coordinators to speak ( as if he's God or something) and a person like Norv would rather not put up with it.

I actually suspect from everything we've always heard about Norv's demeanor that he actually WOULD be the kind of person to put up with it...in years past. Norv is reportedly very much an anti-Parcells personality-wise, laid back, soft-spoken, etc. However, I think Norv has had it with dictatorships after enduring Snyder for the time he did. Granted, he worked for Al Davis for 2 seasons, but Davis has supposedly gotten a lot more hands off the last few years and Norv took the job with that understanding.

I love ya trickblue, and not because you are a very feared moderator like Juke. LOL But have you see what Norv has done with the Gayders the last couple of years? Sorry, but this is not pre-free agency, 1992.
